I'm having the same confusion. I've read the blogs and understand why the keep refactoring and refactoring. But now I'm confused by what app I should be using.

Google Voice has a "chat" (SMS) app that totally sucks. Wait - isn't Hangout supposed to fix this? (no). Now I'm using Hangout - but Voice in GMail (browser) is what pops up.

And if I'm using Allo - who can I chat with? FB users? iMessage? SMS? Just my Google+ friends? The pie is the whole world but this slice is thin. I've given up trying to use 5 apps tied to an experience. SMS is the universal - I go there first. Since that is iMessage for me I get the added feature bonus when chatting with fellow Apple users....but I don't care. I don't use FB messenger because - that's on FB. Hangout? That's only G+. Having to remember which app works for each person is mind boggling - just use SMS platform of the phone. done. Now - if I don't have their phone# I'll use the app. But that's easier to remember.

It's my favorite feature. I send people on FB "Happy automated Birthday message" (literally) when FB shows the "today is Friend #890 Bday! tap here to wish them a birthday." Look mom - I *will* call you today I promise. The rest of you get an automated message to make you feel good.

Automated responses work great on my iWatch - no typing, just pick the appropriate answer (although new watchOS doesn't suggest as well as previous version did). Terrific for limited UI.

But I find most of these replies to be in response to "silence makes people nervous" --- you need to finish the TCP-FIN connection "Okay got it." Not sure it is all that insincere - just saying "okay" or "got it" or "that's nice" Otherwise they keep pinging with "hello - did you get my last message?!"

This idea that people believe there's some person in a dark room controlling fares with a click of the mouse is humorous.

But hey - the algorithm did it's job. Raised rates to get more drivers on the job (although wasn't that also disproven a few months ago?). Anyhow- supply and demand in action. People could walk. Or take a regular (regulated) taxi. I'd suggest the metro but understand that might feel unsafe in a trying time like this.

I'll agree with the suggestion - although think Musk has enough influence to survive and make it go away. If real problems began he'd probably leave to pursue other opportunities and new management would right the ship.

As a person who works in a regulated environment - you can't make claims about something that aren't proven. The product must be specifically designed & tested for these *Uses*. Read the back of a Tylenol / Aspirin bottle : "This product intended for the temporary relief of pain caused by ....(etc)" It doesn't cure cancer. If a salesperson tried to hint that maybe it did - they'd be strung up and fined (the drug industry has many examples of this).

However - apparently Tesla isn't regulated in this space. They can hint and suggest. The can say, "It is so good that most of the time it works as an autopilot self-driving system... but don't try it at home." It wasn't specifically designed to do this - so they shouldn't be able to hint at it. Customer's don't understand what this means - the darn thing works most of the time and they get used to it working.

Since the auto-pilot is designed to Assist the driver - the computer should monitor the driver and verify they are paying attention or pull the car over. Or NOT take over the wheel for indefinite periods of time. Consumers get used to this "not an approved use" behavior and begin to trust it - even make up their own uses ("hey look I can take a nap").

He had with him documents for other countries and also took it upon himself to decide what information could be given out to journalists - because he knew better than most what was secret and what wasn't. He was alerting foreign countries to how the US spy program worked. He was applying constitutional protection to foreign countries.

I had the same concern and wouldn't throw my money down. But my wife surprised me for my bday with one.

What use is a phone that needs to be charged everyday?!

As for battery life. Most of the time it only consumes 30% in a typical day - and I wear it ALL day. I've pared down the apps that make notifications (what's that condition called when everything Beeps you ignore it more?) - and I have worn it 24 hours on one occasion but had to make a few more tweaks to save the battery (ultimately it did go into low-power mode which just shows the time). If I take it off at night (and don't charge it) it will almost make 2 "work" days between a charge. A very busy day will consume 70% (30% left).

If I wave my arms a lot - the battery goes dry. Seriously - we went out to a fancy "family style" dinner and the battery was dead by the end because I kept raising my arm to pass a plate here and there and the screen kept illuminating. The cause of battery loss so far has been unexpected movement. The battery usually lasts all day - so I'm surprised when I see the Red bolt/circle. Which stinks because -- it is unexpected. If I play Angry Birds on my Phone all day I expect the battery to be dead - I know what I did - I'm aware of it. The watch --- unknown causes/uses - dead battery.

However, I don't travel with it anymore. Esp doing stuff like camping. Because it needs a special cable it is one more thing I don't want to deal with. You can't sleep with it because rolling around causes the screen to illuminate which kills the battery (and wakes me up too).

So yeah -- battery life needs to be extended. Right now it is great for the typical "go to work, come home" life. I don't have battery anxiety nor do I think about it anymore, I use it when I exercise - wear it all day - *but* also know that the charger is next to my bed.

I rented a car that had somebodies previous data still stored in the "radio." But it got me thinking- all I wanted to do was play my music. However, there was no obvious option (in this car) to simply allow music to play (via bluetooth). The "radio" demanded that I sync everything.

A different car that I rented allowed me to play music- only when using the USB interface - which worked well and had the added benefit of charging my battery (which is how I discovered this work around). Even this car's bluetooth demanded a semi-complete sync (although I could pick and choose a few options - phone/audio required an addressbook sync).

To be "secure by design" the requirements and use-cases need to flow. Most designers probably think of 100% ownership by the driver. Not the rental world of temporary borrowership.

Rental companies may want to place a "forget me" button on the dashboard. Only one car that I've rented had an easy & obvious method to erase the data (albeit down in a deep menu choice).
