It seems like this is just another of these ongoing M$ vs. Open Source thingy, isn't it? It'd be interesting to see what kind of work is done on these ~5000 computers. IMHO -though I may be totally wrong- parlamentarians only need some word-processing (and Netscape for pr0n:-). So I wonder why these people really care so much about what OS their using. Probably most of the people working there just don't care. If it weren't for that M$-Lobbyists ***I*** wouldn't care at all... So what is all the fuss about? Linux-Freaks bashing at M$-Lobbymonks, stories all over the net....
Maybe I'm missing something, so maybe s.o. could explain actually ***WHY*** they want to change OS
What if you'd mount like 3 lasers in a row, all sending an recieving simultanuously? Even while raining there should be at least one clear line of sight per.001sec. Fog relatet problems could be overcome by using more power.
1) How do you normally access wired networks without getting up a couple of floors (maybe get a job as a window cleaner)
2) How d'you normally encrypt chipered data?
Hehe, so what will happen if the window-washer guy finds that little moving mirror thingy behind the window interesting and moves closer to take a better look? He will probably never need a mirror again...
They use to make you pay more for a drink than the usual price... Especially when you're on vacation in a foreign speaking country. Or when you're drunk.... err... or can't read... mhh.. both?
I'd prefer a place of which I KNOW is monitored and accessible through web rather than any place of which I DO NOT KNOW wether it's weird-wired or else
Reminds me of these fancy japanese restaurants where they cook you meal ON you table:) Looks like having the news AND breakfast at the same time @ 2500MHz
This reminds me of an old movie featuring these two stupid guys who get sealed in a Biodrome for 365d while just wanting to take a piss off the road.
Well... obviously they don't fit in and begin to destroy the nature. Also featuring two sexy female scientists
Quite amusing movie. Anyone remember the name?
As shown in several movies and recent popul.-charts, humankind will *have* to move to another planet/place due to overpopulation. I wonder where the nearest places are? Do we even have enough ressources to build appropriate spaceships, like, real big and to fire them up? (intentionally not talking 'bout money, there will be enough in case of emergency)
I bet we'll waste the last drop of oil driving to McDonalds to get one of these new SpaceBurgers(tm)
So what is the best thing for us Germans to do now??? We could write complains and be marked as nazis... naahh. What else can we do?
This is such a great example of how easy the gov't can turn protestants againt censorship into a raging nazi crowd. And guess what 99% will read in their newspaper? Yes: Sites blocked, nazis angry, thus censorship is great....
You don't have to tell them!
Lay back and relax. Then after a while call you customer and tell 'em you'll need 20hrs more for finishing his program (and he'll pay).
It think the main problem is the variety of available "can-do-something"-programs but M$ has got only a few "I'll-do-all-you-want"-programs. The last time I run KDE I was kinda irritated to find 5 programs/tools for a single job. So I returned to the shell and got rid of them.
Maybe the distros should focus on self-installing, easy maintainance and less programs...... mhhh.. where's the fun gone then...
And people with no idea of software, like most of my customers, don't even know how windooze works. So how can I convince them to use a non-standard and weird-to-the-newbie/unknowing interface?
I just saw a brief report on TV, stating that Bill is still on top of the list. With s.t. like 46B-DM (roughly half of it in US$), though he lost 9Bs during the markets recession.
So 666K seems reasonable
Just wait for that ozone-killers to travel up to the higher atmosphere, which takes about 8 to 10 years (which leaves us.. err... -11 years) and we'll all become mutated super-lifeforms (maybe the stupid ones will get smarter):-)
Hey... I owned one of these 2 years ago. Customizable character recognition ist a thing I always missed on PalmOS (well maybe I'll never earn enough money to buy any extended input software). But I think the Newton kinda rocked:) Too bad I blew it because I used a wrong AC-adapter while charging batteries. Things went HOT...

I think that's over for now. But publicly accepted ignorance and intentional false-education by media is now a MAJOR problem.

So tell me what to do!
This book is definately one of the best books I've ever read :) Glad that I'm not alone, thought that was crap to anyone else....
No take a look at
I'd be thankful if somebody could explain that to me 'cos it sounds so strange to me! (note: I don't have a clue about the whole topic)

"666"
String beast?
:-)

I just heard (on my LOCAL radio) that this was the fault of one of the traindrivers who didn't manage to recognise a stop-sign....
And I didn't hear ANYTHING about even a POSSIBLE connection to terrorists.
You probably watched that moron RTL-News or any other stupid masspsychology-channel

Anyone know (or can estimate) the us retail price?
Well, one could buy a TV-Card and have that desaster in the upper-right corner of their desktop. They'd still be able to post on-topic comments :)

I'd rather have some good software!
With apps like this (I got a PalmOS client 4 month ago) and maybe better displays and faster GPRS you could work from anywhere in the world.
And why do I have to buy that nokia-cable for crapping 45$ (no idea, but it's around 100,-DM in germany I think) to patch that kernel every week?
