I'm not sure the App store is even the target for this tool. This looks to be aimed at the "I want an app that does X,Y, and Q" Nothing out there does it but Google gives me the tools to make it. Now users will be able to make the apps they want to do what they want. If anything this will clean up the app store. No longer do I need to go downloading 20 fart apps to find the fart I want, I can just make it and load it on my device. Now the 16 year old "Developer" does not make AD money from uploading his fart app so he looses the desire to make "Fart app 2: Even Wetter"
Also great for small to mid-sized IT shops who cannot devote a guy to develop in-house mobile apps. Now there is a platform where an app can be put out in a fraction of the time. This could be a great thing for the platform as a whole.
Stop looking at the overly cluttered landscape of the Android App store, There is a bigger picture here that we are missing. Google is very good at bringing order from a pile of chaos and delivering the best nuggets from it. The Android App store is just a self created pile of chaos and I think this is just the next step in creating that order.
I have a sandisk minicruzer that I keep in my pocket. If I leave it there when my wife is on a laundry rampage it gets puts through the washer AND dryer. Mine has been throuh no less than a dozen of these cycles and is still going strong.
How old was your BB? Did you never bother to update the firmware? It is a very simple process, No data is lost and our users can do it themself. I have the ability to view word and excel documents as well as most PDF files. As for E-mail, The treo is ok if you have a pop3/imap system and don't mind your device checking for email all the time. The BB does alot, but people are loosing track of the fact it was not made to do everything. It's there to keep you in touch with your office, not BE your office. The BB is VERY GOOD at what it does, in fact the BEST at it. and that's E-mail. You will find NO BETTER device. And with the addition of Realtime updates to the calander wireless (A big deal when you have a sectuary who runs your life for you) and improved phone quality you now have a great BUSNESS device. If you want a camera, MP3 player, Game unit, Phone, Toaster, bread machine, kitchen sink device by all means grab a treo. If you want to remain in touch with the office at all times then BB is the only real choice.
Accually there are clay $1 chips if that casno has a poker room. Noone wants to play 3/6 with silver. Some places even have clay chips in $0.25 and $0.50 for 7 card stud games. But these chips tend to be of a lesser quality and lighter weight.
if the man was selling them for $2/$3 just to cover his expences then I have no problums. If he offered them for anyone to copy then I have no problums. He is profiting off the works of others and there is the problum. Call me a snitch if you like, but at least have the balls to do it with your name posted.
I am very agenst people selling downloaded material. Guy at my local dirt mall sells movies He downloads, burns and prints covers for. I went as far as to call the 1-800-no-copys number to report it. Took 3 weeks before a human picked up the phone. I gave them all the contact information of the dirt mall and titles of movies being sold. 6 months later he's still there making $10 a movie hand over fist.
Why should we feel sorry for the MPAA when they won't even do anything about people stealing accual sales from them. Even after someone hands them all the information on a silver platter.
Are we going to the same store? The one I go to in Whitemarsh mall Has the "super xbox" on display along with a price sheet and what is included.(There is a disclamer that says you have to uninstall the games you don't have *Wink*) They will sell you X-box W/o the games "you own" preinstalled for $100 less. Copys of all the big games are allready installed. As of last weekend they also sold a PS2 version "pre-loaded" with games.
In short They WERE involved in the crimes they are accused of. They WERE NOT freeware games. Managment KNOWS beacuse I saw the store manager sell one.
How can they rush it out? The DS is looking at a Mid/late November release here in the states. Any PSP release would be rushed and lacking software for months. The psp also has a much higher price working agenst it. the DS @150 clams isn't something you plan to buy. You can walk in off the street, see it on the shelf and buy it w/o much thought. Now 250? 299? You do a little more research and ho humming and buy less software for it when you get the box from behind the counter.
First out of the gate isn't always the way to win. But First out with a low price point and good launch titles is. The big N has a stranglehold on the handheld market. And after sony attempts to crack the nut and fails I think it will be the end of the handheld war.
Then again I'm a nintendo fanboy and could very well be full of S.
That's exactly why you do it in noplace. Slow, controled rollout w/o tons of people beating down your door looking for install. The slower rollout also gives you the chance to work out any kinks in the process of order taking, install, provisioning, hardware alocation, Ect.
While I enjoy being first with these type things, going 2nd has it's advantages.
Working at a law firm we have to keep everything for 7 years. We have a system in place that takes all mail over 90 days old pulls it out of exchange and move it to the SAN. As a plus it puts a link back into the information store to make it look like the message is still there. User wants a Old message he can still get it himself w/o a IT person having to do dig up a tame, restore the file and the e-mailing it to him (Thus creating MORE mail). The messages are still searchable and it makes retrival when needed a snap.
Mind you, we are only a 700 user shop. But nothing gets deleted. If it gets buy the spam filter it gets saved.

Lets not forget the "Truck Load" for volume.

Funny thing is, I've never finished watching one either. /seen the first 6 minutes several times tho...
Yes they have them for sale. $500 will get you one.
The Sign in the plastic display holder even tells you what games you get.
