This only effects sites that use ratios for things like "VIP Status" or Auto-Bans, without hacking the client as well you wont be able to fool the other clients to send you data if you dont send them data.
This is nothing new, there's been client hacks for this for quite a while (http://www.00de.com/), there's also been ratio faking programs out for quite a while as well. So I really dont see anything additional that this 'xyflar' guy has added besides posting what's been known to pretty much every torrent user as well as pretty much every torrent site that uses ratios.
No the time machine wasn't powered by steam (if you're referring to BTTF:III), the whole steam loco was used to get the car up to the required 88 miles per hour, not to generate the power for the flux capacitor.
I think if you'd remember correctly one of the most Vocal was the New York Times and Hillary Clinton . . . I'd severely doubt that they would fall under 'the religious right' under any stretch of the phrase.
I know a couple of the comments he makes to make you better like creating a template can and most likely are against the rules (I can attest to at least one competition that it is). And he is correct that more languages you know the easier it is if you switch between them. I remember one problem, that was easily solved in 2 short lines of Perl, which required the C coders to write quite a few more then that.
erm, no, ethernet (atleast your standard 10/100/1000 copper) uses rj-45.
And as for RJ-61, this quote from wikipedia sums it up best:
This pinout is for multi-line telephone use only; RJ-61 is unsuitable for use with Ethernet over twisted pair (10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T) because the pins for pairs 3 and 4 are too widely spaced.
Most people who don't have a heavy science background would proabably guess there are only 3, solid, liquid, and gas. A smaller percentage might add plasma in there, and a very small percentage might include the rest.
The only thing the vehicle owner has to do is refill the unit with distilled water once every 80 hours of engine use.
YOWCH, I'm sure some people will be spending more time filling their cars with water then gas then.
I love the caption to this pic, yea . . safe and snug if you drive 10 mph the whole way and take no corners.
Ooops that should of been www.00de.de

It seems like every 2-3 months we get an identical story. This isn't new, and I expect it will still happen for quite a long time still.
Yes
Slashdot has migrated from tech news to "Tech News and Anything We Can Bitch At Bush Over"

It's called an orbit . . .
here's the wikipedia article.
Unless it has enough energy to leave the system, anything launched will eventually (after a long enough time) to Earth.

Maybe that's why you're building a battlebot instead of working at NASA R&D?
heh, I guess it's just a bonus I never put /. as my start page :)
I must be missing why this story is such a big deal?
stop trying to pimp your shitty site. creating a new acct wont help.
"as opposed to another one where Michael More makes fun of people he disagrees with by coming up with bullshit and lies"
sorry had to correct you.
That's the point, if they're not, and for some odd reason Continential somehow, someway is causing interference then they're at fault.
Although it's been proven that it's a common vulnerability in *all* shells, there's something to be said about the average windows user.
