Exchange in particular is not mentioned in this article, however KOrganizer now supports it via this plugin, which is also in KDE CVS. Therefore, the integrated suite Kaplan (not Kroupware, the other suite the article discusses) will automatically support Exchange as well. This is because Kaplan essentially uses KParts from the other applications instead of re-writing everything.

Anyway, Exchange support is needed, as has been pointed out by many others, because the only way to (easily) get companies to switch to a linux desktop is to be able to say "Look, you can browse the Internet, check email, open word documents, and use Exchange". That's why Ximian has gotten some corporate contracts. Once KDE can compete for those contracts as well, the more the merrier :).

My advice: If you have a chance to get a new one, do it. I have a friend who has a later PS2 version than mine, and he's never encountered any problems with it. So go for a new one if possible, and avoid the problems I'm having. On the other hand, I won't say for sure that your problems will lead into the kind I'm having, so if it will cost you a lot of money to get a different system, you might want to wait until it actually starts failing completely before you get a new one.

All you need to do is open it up and take out four smaller screws on the DVD drive, and take a cutip and rubbing alcohol to the lens :) Reassemble, and voila! It works! The xbox problem might have a similar solution. Of course, it voids your (useless ?) warantee.

Heh, with konqueror, its click/swipe, because the initial click doesn't highlight everything (this also makes on-the-fly editing without deleting quite easy). "But what if you want to change everything?" you ask? Easy: a handy button to the left of the address bar deletes the address bar contents and gives it focus all in one click (or you can double-click to highlight everything, then type: but who needs an extra click?). IMHO, Konqueror has maximized click usage, the "longest" action you will ever need to do is a click-swipe.

  13. Re:some goofs on Accidental Discovery Could Lead to Cure for AIDS Virus · · Score: 2, Informative

Actually, from my understanding (though IANAMD) the parent to your post isn't quite correct in calling AIDS a disease. It's actually a syndrome (Aquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), thus it is different than the "influenza virus causes influenza". AIDS is the state of having such a poor immune system, caused by the contraction of HIV, that other diseases (like influenza) cannot be fought off. You don't have AIDS until HIV has been in you long enough to batter down your immune system. Thus, having HIV does not infer that you have AIDS, in contrast to having the influenza virus which "immediately" gives you influenza. Or at least, such is my understanding.

That is also not the bug (what your talking about sounds like FSF just self-signs their certificates). It is someone "signing" (or rather, spoofing the signing) of a certificate by a certificate authority the browser does trust, but the browser not checking with the authority to see if they actually issued the certificate (or at elast, such is my interpretation). Thus, if FSF had spoofed the signing of their certificate as being signed by, say, VeriSign, and Mozilla didn't give a warning, then it would be vulnerable.
