You can get far enough up to make for a good sniping position, but no not up to the redeemer. I have seen a video where someone shot a redeemer at the side of the center tower then got in a manta, hopped it up to the side of the tower and used the redeemer like you'd use a rocket jump to get the rest of the way up. Far from practical. :)

Embedded systems developers can _fix_ those bugs or work around them. Hypothetically, even if the ARM port of Linux has 3 bugs for every 1 bug that WinCE has(which there is no evidence to support :) ), Linux may still come out on top compared to WinCE. In the embedded market application compatibility isn't as much of a concern, but cost and open source is.

I hate to tell you but thats what happens to batteries when you constantly charge/discharge them. Plus if you phone has a NiCad or NiMH battery and you don't discharge it fully before recharging or conversely if you phone has a Li-ion battery and let it discharge all the way before recharging it you will kill it pretty quick. Irregardless cellphone batteries are brutalized pretty badly, between the constant charge/discharge cycles and being thrown around/dropped. You Palm m100 has lasted a long time because you don't leave it on all the time. In reality its the battery companies that are the problem for pushing disposable batteries instead of rechargeables. Anyways, one of the big features to look for in a new cellphone/pda is a replaceable battery, so at very least you have the option to replace the battery instead of replacing the whole device. I completely agree with you on inkjet printers. I hate _all_ inkjets now.

SNES emulators for the Zaurus or PocketPC barely run full speed as far as I understand. All I'm saying is you might want to hold onto your GBA for a while.

The way it works is a named distro such as sid, woody or sarge progresses through different stages of stability: from unstable->testing->stable. So right now sid is considered "unstable", sarge is in the "testing" stage before it becoms stable, and woody is considered "stable." Once sarge is considered stable, woody will be obsolete and sid will be bumped to testing and a new version will become unstable. The Debian maintainers have a _very_ high standard for stability. When you have a Debian stable release you can count on being able to install any package from the stable release without hitting a stability problem. All packages in stable are very thoroughly tested to be sure that there are no problems with them. That being said they tend to be somewhat out of date. I've been using Debian since 1998 and I've used unstable almost exclusively since then on my desktop, but have used stable on any servers/gateways I've built. I would say that "unstable" Debian tends to be more stable than RedHat releases, and more up to date (RedHat 9 did make vast improvements over RedHat 8 in the stability/non-brokeness area though). I suggest if you're installing it on a desktop machine that you should go with unstable(sid). From time to time some packages will have dependency fights with each other but those can be solved by putting those packages on "hold" for a few days and waiting for the dependency issues to work themeselves out, then upgrading as normal. Once you go Debian, you'll never go back to a distro without apt builtin.

    As of now:
Unstable->sid (this is probably what you want for a desktop)
testing->sarge (use this if you need something slight more reliable than unstable)
stable->woody (use this on mission critcal systems and servers)
