I'll never understand the overpriced contracts you have on your side of the pond.
Over here I pay what translates into $40/month, get 200 minutes and 100 text messages for free, as well as 10GB of data and a fully subsidized (no extra cost) Samsung Galaxy S2. And that's including 19% VAT.
That's a common problem. Ask three of their sales reps for details on the licensing required for a certain situation and you'll get three completely different proposals.
According to the story, the first time they encountered one, the recognition system couldn't decide between MAD (Marauder) and CAT (Catapult). Reports of this event later lead to the new name.
Assembly might actually teach them something useful, while BASIC and COBOL serve to do as much damage to their understanding or real programming as possible.
Strange, I had the exact same problem back then. One class was "Electrical Engineering 1" and the other was "Java 1". Must've been something in the water.
Thanks to the wonders of outsourcing they don't torture people directly anymore and the guards in Gitmo need something to do anyway.

Just reading the headline I initially assumed it to be a project to harness that hot air produced by all those MBAs.
Seems to offer less than the competition does, but at least it's a nice try.
MS Bob 2.0
To sum it up: There's a reason why Apple is maintaining two product-specific branches of its operating system.

Just let them start with BASIC ...
Stuff which distracts a driver's attention could be dangerous?
Now there's a surprise!!!
Strange, I had the exact same problem back then. One class was "Electrical Engineering 1" and the other was "Java 1".
Must've been something in the water.
True, OTOH that's Australia. With all the crazy reports over the last years that place seems to be run by the Keystone Kops anyway.
Am I the only one who expected this to be about some company which tried to patent the wheel?
^^
While this may sound crazy I've met plenty of people over the years who'd actually be stupid enough to do that.
Yet another example of how fucked up the patent system is. LCD-centric universal remotes have been around for over a decade.
There's still some of it left which Canonical hasn't managed to ruin?
