useful? What you want A nice fast computer. Go ahead and do that. You're missing one point with the BBA is that it lets you program the dreamcast without the coder cable which is pretty slow after a while. . 10/100 mbit compared to 56/112kb. And so if you have the DC, the linux distro, and the BBA. Why not mess around for 10 mins on it? Whats the harm? Why do you need "replacement parts"? you gonna run a server on the dc or something?

What I always think to myself about file sharing and burning cds to listen to in my car (assuming I want the WHOLE cd in this case) is that lets say it takes me an hour to find all the songs.. download them.. burn them with my 4x burner (20 mins).. hell it typically already took an hour to do all that.. and an hours worth of work can BUY the cd.
Theres something special about owning the CD with the artwork.. like the "new" TOOL album. Need more original album covers and inserts!! thank you

  7. video games.. on Pop-up Ads Coming to A TV Near You · · Score: 2, Funny

I see people say complaining about video games and saying how they better not touch them with adverts.. but how many of you would rather the main character in a game ... lets say duke nukem ...break into a bar, shoot some pigs up, then afterwards look around the room seeing the bartender shaking in his boots.. then hear duke say "gimme a shot of tequila". I'd rather he say "gimme some jose cuervo". and he drinks it and moves on.. simple nonchalant advertising in video games make them a tad more real and more fun knowing that he's drinkin a coke and not a soft drink or a "cuke" (like sorny or panaphonic)
I just hope we're not forced to see ads during load times one day.

  11. Re:Outrageous PC specs on Final Fantasy XI PC Requirements Announced · · Score: 1

well now, besides those being ps1 games, ff9 was never released for the PC.

the ps1 is a 33.8688mhz machine with 1 meg of video ram and 2 megs main memory..
now you had a pentium 200 (the rare one? =)) and thats 6x more megahertz power (not going into the fact that the ps1 had a risc cpu..) but you had maybe 32 or 64 megs of ram and a 12 meg vid card, so does that mean you should have a system 6 times better than the console (cept maybe the xbox with its pc like structure) to play a port of it nicely in SOME cases??? maybe so.. my point being, I dunno, maybe something along the lines of the fact that consoles have no overhead to get rid of, have to attain a lower frame rate at a lower resolution, etcetcetcetc

on a final note.. Why does the ps2 have a memory card thats larger than its vram?? they should use one as a RAM UPGRADE! ala nintendo64. ;-)

An A4TECH is the way to go.. although my mouse got worn down so much, I could put a penny on the left button and it would click, my friends is still working fine. I found this mouse AMAZINGLY light.. good for the 180 degree turns. I have now replaced it with a standard logitech optical mouse and found it to be heavier and I also find myself accidentally clicking the right mouse button by mistake (goddamn silencer). So if you want a mouse for $20 that does a damn good job, go for the cheap a4tech mouse.
