I too would prefer that they be kept separate. The iPod works well as it is now. Besides, my 5th-gen's design and specs will likely allow it to continue serving my needs for years beyond my cell phone with the short life of wireless networks and protocols. Buying the "iPod" hardware again every couple-three years doesn't make sense to me when the person is only needing to upgrade his/her cell phone.
Yeah, I've always thought that blogging is much smaller than the media makes it seem. To me, a blog is nothing more than a way for a person to publish to the web comments on a given subject. It is simply a page format or layout, not a society advancing technical phenomenon. RSS just happens to make getting content such as blogs a little easier and isn't going to save the world either. Now, that blog has become a buzzword, everyone company seems to think that it is the only way to reach the public. I hate buzzwords!
Yeah, I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I haven't jumped on the RSS bandwagon and wouldn't unless it became necessary. Although RSS has it's place and usefulness, mainstream users are perfectly content with making use of the net by way of a web browser. This method works just fine for me.
Smoothwall is a great router/firewall/DHCP server distro. The ISO is 32MB, and it is very simple to setup and run. I used it for 1.5 years or so until I moved back in July. I'm not using it now, because I don't really have room for the PC. I'll start running it again when I move to my next house.
Granted, the appeal of hacking together a solution for this would be fun. Unless you are paying a rediculous price for your existing DVR box, getting another would be the easiest way to increase your storage. My DVR service from Time Warner Cable cost $6.95 per month on top of the HDTV box I have with the normal digital cable service. A second DVR costs $16 - $17, and it requires no additional work. Cable them both up with your other gear, program one of the remotes, and bam!
Absolutely not! Without a popup blocker and Flash disabled, browsing the web is already a pain. Why would anyone be willing to put up with the crap regardless of what you are using the computer for? Besides, Windows isn't likely to ever be so expensive for a free version full of annoyances like ads to be worth dealing with.
The folder should not even be "Documents" since it contains files of the non-document type likes those in the subfolders "Music" and "Pictures". The most appropriate name in my opinion is "User Files", "User Data", or possibly "The Crap Most Users Want To Hang On To When Reinstalling Windows For The Nth Time". This isn't a problem for me, becauce I always remapped special folders to another drive letter.
This is exactly what I intend to do with mp3 jukebox eventually. I will add code to my existing project to use the FM transmitter as a player. This player would be independent of direct to stereo connection and the clients listening to independent http streams. With the right PC, it would be possible to broadcast different music on different FM stations allowing tuned people to play what they want.
That's what humans do. We are virii only living to destroy. I'd say we should just remain here on Earth, so that we don't kill the rest of the universe.
One of the two tests obviously are wrong. I'd venture to say that he has refused testing, because he knows that the second test result could be a false negative. A third test could bring back the depression and suicidal thoughts, and he wants to continue thinking that he isn't HIV-positive. For the sake of his sexual partners, I sure hope that he is not infected.
Pressing shift as Acrobat loads does indeed stop it from loading the 1200 plug-ins it would do otherwise. Thanks for the info! I'm running v6.0.2a CE on Win2k at work just in case some of you are getting different results.
Why do all the big players have do everything the next guy is doing? I miss the days when companies actually focused on one, two, or a few things. It seems like this is no longer the case.
Do any of you know whether or not the new Griffin iTrip FM transmitter will be availble in black to better match the black 5th gen Ipod when it starts shipping later this month? The website doesn't even offer much info about the white finish pictured.
Is there anything I should know about when selecting a FM transmitter for my car. Although I'd rather make the connection via cable to my factory stereo, the cost of doing so seems to be ridiculously high. Perhaps I not finding the right webpages.
5 minutes???? Were you only ripping one track from each CD? On average, my collection took an hour to ripped at 320 VBR per CD. You must have exagerating a bit there.
I haven't had a problem with PayPal since signing up years ago. I don't leave money in the account longer than necessary and always pay by credit card if the seller accepts it via PayPal. I have both sold and bought many, many times. I suspect that PayPal is no more corrupt/broken than the other similar services.
Smoothwall is and great and easy Firewall/DHCP Server/Router/etc Linux distro. Grab/buy an unused PC, download the ISO, burn the disc, and install. The install takes 5 minutes max. The PC could be a very low end system and it will work fine. I will require at least two NICs in your case. Place the box between your cable modem and LAN switch. Smoothwall is capable of so much out of the box and can be extended through add-ons.
My statement regarding detectors not knowing the difference between moissanite and diamond was true 2.5 years ago when the rings were bought and a couple of tests since then have yielded the same result. Only the trained eye and those you tell will know the difference.
Buy Moissanite if your girl doesn't mind. It had been selling for 1/10 of the cost of a comparible Diamond. My wife actually suggested it for her rings. Most Diamond detectors report Moissanite stones as diamond. My wife rings are very nice looking and didn't cost me two months salary.
I'd like to see GPLKillFlash, because I hate visiting website that require Flash. Especially those sites that are using it to accomplish what basic HTML could do. You know, I didn't much like to when browser plug-ins hit the net way back when. Never the less, having a less bloated alternative is still a good thing.
I say that we should just completely support those unwilling to carry their own weight and earn what they consume. The world would be a better place.
Now, back to being serious. I have paid for Dell to dispose of several boxes of computer and consumer electronics stuff, because it is better for environment. The first round of boxes were $5.00 each and the second group were $15.00 each. This fee included all costs including shipping via DHL. This is well worth it.

My Wheat Chex is already overpriced, so General Foods better not raise the price further by making the box packaging animated!

Why? Distribute the same content on a data CD and save a lot of dough! CD's cost nothing to stamp! I just don't get the world sometime!

I was about to write the same thing. I'll tell you the IP if you promise to not send me a bunch of crap! No I won't, and this wasn't posted from it!

Okay, I did type 320 VBR, and I did realize how stupid that was after submitting the message. It is not possible to have both variable and constant.
