I live in north Springville now and get 640k down/256k up with Quest MSN for $40 per month. The only thing that sucks is that the modem has a built in firewall with all ports blocked. This is good for newbies but sucks for geeks.
Me, I have the opposite problem. Ive been trying to get some fat for years unsuccessfully.
I sit in front of a computer appx 12 hours a day and yes I do eat. My average day is eggs hashbrowns and bacon for breakfast, burger and fries for lunch, a big dinner (salad potato w/cheese sour cream, roast beef), tons of snacks and about 4 cans of coke.
6 foot 2 and 140 pounds. Havent gained a pound since 9th grade (10 years ago)
Everyone says its because of a high metabolism. I dont think so. Im tired a lot (hence the 4 cans of coke / coffee), and I sleep 9-10 hours per day. Are there any doctors in the house?
"Fox fought against it and said that they would sue the show," Groening told Gross. "And we called their bluff because we didn't think that Rupert Murdoch would pay for Fox to sue itself. So we got away with it," he said, proud of the accomplishment.
Fox News, however, denies reports that they ever threatened to sue. "We were all scratching our heads and thought it was hysterical," spokesman Rob Zimmerman told us yesterday. "It's not the first time we've been spoofed, you know."
Even if we get a national spam law, this would not stop the spam coming from other countries. They will start originating from countries where it is not illegal
I just got my GeForce FX 5200 and it has some terrible graphics corruption in certain parts of the city in Vice City. Im wondering if this is due to the driver issues
I think it's pretty sad. In a movie they do a hack "correctly" and everybody is amazed. How much of their million dollar budgets does it take to properly research this stuff? not much. They never cared about impressing the geek before now. They want to entertain audiences.
In all reality this hack would have not been left open by the Zion admin. He's a unix operator.
If you really wanted a hack more in line with reality, she should have called a Zion employee while pretending to be Zion admin. They would have gladly gave up their password.
Dude, you've got to be kidding me. You are comparing apples to oranges. If IE crashes at 99.9% then that is a bug in IE. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the protocol.
"Since the technology exists to reduce nicotine in cigarettes to insignificant levels, why, one is led to ask, does the industry keep nicotine in cigarettes at all?"
Cigarettes are a nicotine delivery device. If you remove the nicotine then you remove the need for the delivery device
RedHat 8, truetype fonts from your windows machine, mozilla 1.2, symlink your openoffice font dir to the truetype dir,... and you have got one smooth desktop
If I had a proxy over here in the states. Could a friend of mine in China SSH Tunnel to my proxy? Or does china proxy all requests, thus blocking all outgoing SSH traffic?
My friend worked at this place,.. They take all the popular films and tone them down so the mormon population can enjoy them without worrying about what their kids see on the screen. I think its a good idea.. if you're a parent. I also do understand how the directors may not like their film edited.

If there is a huge gaping hole in your system they DO NOT need to know your IP. Have you ever heard of 'scanning'??, 'automated hacks'?? If you have a hole, it will be exploited. Security through obscurity does not work. And you dont need to be picked as a target to become a target. An automated hack will reach you eventually. Usually in about 5 minutes.
Are you kidding? IP spoofing is running rampant on the Internet. Have you ever been DDOS attacked? Unfortunately most networks do not egress filter.
I always hear this argument about MAC filtering being weak, but... how would the cracker know WHICH MAC address you are allowing?

A month ago? My buddys dad has one. He showed me the website over TWO YEARS ago
Personal Firewall is the best approach to keep software from "phoning home".
You need to use your best judgement - when and why an application connects to the internet. Deny all connections by default.

Hughes HDVR2 DirecTivo does not support the new features and it is "claimed" to be a series 2.

Yes. From now on Slashdot no longer has the right to badmouth Bill Gates and Microsoft for stealing ideas.
These cars are ok.. but I prefer to do my shopping over at http://molestedcars.com

Id love to see who these "experts" are. FTP FASTER than HTTP? Um .. Ok
The answer is quite obviously that HTTP is the better choice for you.
FTP is known for security holes. FTP is often misconfigured. FTP uses two ports and commonly has problems with firewalls, stateful or not.
HTTP you wont have to deal with most of the headaches.

How can a Windows 2000 server be up for 2 years? No service packs? No Hotfixes? It must be full of old security holes?

Im thinking encrypted tunneling is the key..
to grow old, become disused; no longer in use or no longer useful.
He is saying 99.9% of all sites are no longer in use, no longer used? Thats not true at all..
In the article he was spouting off about css and xml and the future of the web. What does this have to do with obsolescence ?
