But now, after seeing hundreds of stories and reading thousands of comments, you've made it clear. You'd rather see Digg go down fighting than bow down to a bigger company. We hear you, and effective immediately we won't delete stories or comments containing the code and will deal with whatever the consequences might be.
If we lose, then what the hell, at least we died trying.
we're getting what we deserve. (I'm a white male.)
If you yourself have enslaved anyone or opressed anyone I would agree. Blaming someone for sins of their ancestors is ridiculous. And if we blame for the effects of sins then, logically, we should honor for effects of good works (knowledge, technology, etc).
I have been playing the new Pirates! on xbox recently, and thought an MMOG would be a great fit, where the important jobs (governor, friar, captain of the gaurd, so forth) could be held in a meaningful way by players, leading to a competetive social structure without repetetive NPCs.
Also, being a Carribean pirate is just downright fun.
You can discuss Nazi history, yes. But you are not allowed to have the wrong opinion, ie. fly the swastika, "deny the holocaust" etc. Mind-crimes are far more dangerous than torrents being shutdown due to flagrant copyright infringement.
A 56k connection (or voice call) on Iridium is about $1 minute. It works almost anywhere in the world and at 35,000 feet. My company uses the motorola 9505 on aircraft and we use SMS and voice mostly because data is just so slow... but it is cheap, can be cheaper than international cellphone roaming charges!
Corpnews: What emerging trend do you see as most affecting future MMOG designs?
Richard: Physics. MMOs try and create realistic worlds to explore and interact with. Thus, physics is a natural next step in crafting a real place. Plus, physics chips are now on the horizon, so we will be able to compute complex scenes quickly!
brilliant. Use your Jeffries Tubes to lay your Stevens Tubes.

Elementary school brought in 20 commodore PETs for a couple of weeks. All I remember about it was playing Oregon Trail.
Good Times.
I use a Verizon EVDO card at work, $80/month unlimited. Much faster than tmobile EDGE. Maintain .7-1mbit in well-covered areas.
