nearly every copy protection out there is cracked already. no one would use one standard because it would get crackd immediately. emulate the low level access for a list of games? what does that mean?? offering solutions when you don't understand the problem is silly.
Same here...spent a good while installing and configuring it. I know upgrading isn't that difficult, but it would have been nice to have waited and installed the latest and greatest instead.
Ah well....I hope the 2.6 kernel is all they say it is (with the improved response times for GUI apps...I hate the laggy feel of my current install)
Yea, I knew that and would've posted my collection's bitrate (192kbps VBR mp3...some 192kbps AAC) but even so...still that's usually at LEAST 4 or 5 songs which I have never seen my iPod cache.
I wonder why that is. You'd think if it did cache more then it'd spin up less. Does it only cache the max if it's doing non-random playback? That'd be stupid but that would explain it.
I've got a 4th gen 40 gig with the latest firmware and if I skip 3 songs ahead the drive spins up. Usually I think it's more like skipping 2 songs ahead and it'll spin up.
Theoretically you could use VS.Net and just run the compiled apps on Mono. Only problem is libraries, but I believe Windows Forms support is mostly working on Mono.
Do you really not get what I was saying? (I have a 4th Gen iPod BTW). Who wants to bulky ass WAVs (or even some lossless compression, ALAC, FLAC, etc) on their portable player? Unless your entire collection is lossless, then I can see it...but those people aren't buying songs off iTunes.
Good god, you live in a freaking cave, don't you? You do realize that the VAST majority of users are NOT capable of that. Did you not see my emphasis on PRACTICALLY in the post you replied to?
Windows has had "runas" since Win2k. App installs can even be made to prompt for an admin login/password (using the runas mechanism transparently).
standard api to validate the copy protection?

I think a beowulf cluster of them would stink unless it was properly maintained.....
"The Center for the Institute of Studies" haha
Uhh....to brag about how much he has free, apparently.
I'm curious...how much of that do the techs get, on average?

Ahh...I see. Thought it was 1800 FAT GIRL at first...played some pranks with that one before.
Looks like someone has been living under a rock.
I've moved up to heroin, dumbass.
Umm.... 1 800 fat shit .........?

Are you sure about that? Perhaps it's changed...

No...I'm pretty sure none of them had shuffle mode before the iPod Shuffle. Maybe it came with a firmware update aftewards...but not before.....
Odd you would think tha...like you've been brainwashed or something.
Nazi.
I find you dubious, Mr. Anonymous Coward.

Yea..."I couldn't care less" is sarcastic as well actually. Very rarely is it true that you really couldn't care less about something. IMHO
Horrible logic.....I bet you failed the test, didn't you? ;)
(it's a joke, laugh..but your logic does stink)

Yea, but what good does that do you if you have a portable music player?
Can I have my 2 minutes back? Thanks.

How are you going to get on the internet to download another webbrowser without a webbrowser?
I can see how TECHNICALLY it's not the same concept as his steering wheel example...but I think PRACTICALLY it is the same.
Is there something strange about owning a sword?
