What a crock of shit. Australians have been using munted in the sense of "fucked up" since at least the 80's with no racist undertones. It's normally used to describe levels of drunkenness. "Did you see Davo last night? He was fucken munted!"
Having worked in the industry in Australia, I've got a fair idea what the cause is.
I know Australia and the US are a little different, but the general theory remains the same - what you're probably looking at is QoS. They're not slowing the netflix traffic per se, they're just prioritising other traffic such as the speed tests.
Most streaming suppliers will have a big juicy link from their datacentres to prominent peering points. You can pretty much guarantee that it's your ISP and their choice of backhaul or their choice of backhaul supplier who are at fault if you're seeing traffic prioritisation affect your streaming.
Scratch that, I thought it was a browser problem, but I couldn't get rid of the "alert" because it was an inline image. Well played to the author of the article.
What impressed me most is the fact that a review site didn't feel the need to lay out 20 pages of crap to give an overall idea of how the card ran. Two thumbs up for that alone...
Yeah... try it on your own stuff and fix it yourself. If I see my staff trying something they're not allowed to do I come down on them like a ton of bricks. IT staff should not be required to fix problems caused by a breach of policy. (Yes, I used to work in IT).
Gotta love the small update size. More software should work this way and instead of giving us everything each time, just give the changes. Well... more windows software needs to do it, other platforms seem to manage it ok.
France or the US in my opinion... Shortly after the UK announces it wants to give more aid to Africa and cut CO2 emissions and the US says it doesn't... BOOM. Shortly after London wins the olympics... BOOM.
But didn't VisiCalc "merely" automate something that accounts did for a long time. Doesn't a spell checker "merely" automate something that people do anyway? When a computer copies a file from one disk to another, isn't it "merely" doing something that could be done by hand? When you use Photoshop to brighten a picture aren't you "merely" automating something you can do in a darkroom?
and because these processes are just an automation of a system that already exists, the software automation shouldn't be patentable... copyrighted for sure, but not patentable.
Not as far fetched as it sounds... I for one am all for Australia declaring war on the USA for it's unlawful holding of Australian citizens abducted from afghanistan. All we seem to do though, is to pretend we're another state of the US.
You forgot the portion of us that's fit and plays sport... Although to be honest, the most coding I do is simple scripts, so maybe I'm not an "OSS geek".
Most people with a trade make big bucks nowadays the people who don't are the ones doing the really unskilled work, essentially gruntwork that doesn't require a trades certificate. The big earners are the ones smart enough to go into business for themselves usually have a license to print money. I used to know a plumber who was getting close to 6 figures in the 80's and god knows what he earns now.
I guess you didn't check out the website did you? To be trusted, you need to get assurance from at the very least 2 well trusted third parties who have met you in person. Until that stage, your certificates are given a generic username. For more info on this process and the type of third parties that are trusted, check out this page and the links therein.
Your analogy would be correct except that the browser is an interpreter which simply displays the results of the HTML. It does not compile them in the slightest.
When the presenter seems to be doing his best to deep throat Samsung's cock.
How the fuck is a CEO "working to improve his leadership skills"? That's some next level shit.
I hit the comments to write "no shit", but you beat me to it and put it far more eloquently than I could. Well done sir.
Cite your sources on the South African origin.

About fucking time I say. There's a shitload of lemons I played for a couple of minutes that I'd like refunds for.
Get a decent phone you backward bastard.

Would you like to download it now?
Oh, the irony.

Ahh you'd expect microsoft to use their products for everything. It would be like the head of GM driving a Ford.

misfortune of others is always funny... even death. Those who say otherwise are probably hippies who drink their own urine or something...

Good old australians on the other hand...
10 longnecks for a lazy friday night (10 x 800ml)
Yep, meter is a tool for measuring, metre is a measurement.
Depending on what sort of user you are (browser or leecher), you can get broadband in australia that is priced similarly to dialup.
