Keep in mind that as a zombie computer becomes more "obvious"- computer is slower, fan runs at 100% all the time, etc, the more likely that the malware will be noticed and removed.
I was mining Litecoins this morning and even though my computer was relatively quiet (mining with GPU) compared to fans at 100%, etc, it was still painfully slow. When I hovered over a link it would take a second to change colors. Literally a second. The user would probably notice that too. Though it wasn't laggy when I was mining Bitcoins so...who knows.
My point of posting that was to show how much bitcoins are worth. Of course the "important aspect" is how much value they retain, how do you think I came up with 266 BTC?! And of course BTC value is on the rise, with bitcoins being harder to mine everyday, with that 21,000,000 bitcoins upward limit. If it were " 26.6 trillion deca-nano" bitcoins stolen, I'd say that right?! But no, I said 266 with the presumed decimal point after the second "6", that everyone else seemed to understand. I also said "approximately" because the value is not exact, and this number changes every second of every hour of every day, etc, etc.
Your post was absolutely pointless and you shouldn't have even bothered posting it, you typing it and me replying to it is just a waste of time for the both of us, no offense...
You are just repeating what I said. I know more people are killed with cars. I know more people are killed with hammers. Those are NOT meant to kill, they have other uses, unlike firearms.
A Car is not built so it can kill people. Firearms are.
But ok, you want to compare guns to cars? Fine. Let's treat all guns just as we do cars: mandatory test before being allowed to use one, yearly registration (including fees), you'll have to get your gunner's license renewed every few years, and if you're carrying and acting in any way suspicious, a cop may give you a gun-side sobriety test. Also, you must have your gun registration and insurance (that's right, you'll need liability insurance) with you at all times.
Wasn't a patent troll shown in a previous Slashdot article called "Project Paperless LLC"? And this is called Paperless 2013 project? I assume they are completely unrelated, correct?
No, and that's my final answer. What a horrible idea. Why doesn't Microsoft stick with one and make it rock solid? Like they did with XP. Doing this will make developers go nuts because they will have to build a new version every time a new version of windows come out. They are just trying to copy Apple's business model and they are doing it WRONG.
In my opinion, it depends. For a single person coding and making some program (doesn't even have to be in a company) and not planning on putting on sourceforge or something, it probably doesn't matter. In a company where code is shared and debugged between lots of people, yes it does. So all in all, formatting probably does matter in the long run.
Microsoft needs to expand and FIX (tons of bugs on my Win 7 machine) Windows 7 instead of pushing out Windows 8. For one thing, it looks to me like Windows 7 is much more favorable than 8 among the general public. Microsoft could probably pick up more revenue from 7 because it IS favorable to 8. I have also heard it is not as intuitive as 7, probably because 8 is designed mainly for tablets (c'mon MS, the majority of computers out there will be laptops/desktops, not tablets). Though I don't know if this is completely true.
RIP start menu.
Facebook will already sue any employer who asks an employee for the password. I guess it is different from being an actual law but I would expect Facebook has some pretty damn good lawyers...
Certainly better than your family members going to fight.
To clarify: Would you rather have, for example, your son going to war with a significant chance they may not return? Or would you rather have them safe and sound next to you?
Just making a point, not trying to start an argument.
Well then Apple should have used a circle or pentagram, because Microsoft actually came out with the first tablet, the Tablet PC. Just nobody paid any attention to it. So Apple copied Microsoft.
And using a specific shape for a device is not "copying" the design. Using the specific dimensions, etc. is copying, but that is not what Samsung has done.
All these court cases are pointless. It's better for the consumers to have choices and for the companies to have competition. If the companies have competition, they may lower their prices, hence, better for the consumer.

I'm sure you were scared for your privacy when Bush passed the Patriot Act...

Believe it or not that was only approximately 266 bitcoins.
I thought the whole point of a Chromebook was a laptop that was affordable and practical...not very affordable anymore...
Don't know about you guys but Photoshop CS2 is free from Adobe.
Yea...Seriously.

This sounds like something the NRA would say.... "WE MUST DO ANYTHING TO KEEP ALL GUNS"

I read somewhere else that he made an illegal pass on the right.

I am definitely going to back my S2 up now. *shudder*
Stole my comment ;P
The author forgot to mention Corona, which is a big one, but I am sure there is more out there too.
I know C++ and English...does this count as bilingual?! :D
I guess they have never heard of viruses....
