Well, if it's never going to happen here, then it's never going to happen anywhere. Space it just too big for us to ever get past the Kupier Belt, let alone another even vaugly hospitipal place like Mars. And having a large "space station" type setup only makes sense if we are using it to get somewhere else.
A: I play my Abe Lincoln, doing 5 damage to your Hamilton. B: My Hamilton does 10 damage to your Lincoln killing it. A: I draw *yes*,*yes*,*yes!* Ben Franklin! I defeat your Hamilton and add a +5 defense of Sacagawea. B: I'm going home.
Back in the DOS 5 and 6 days, I used to make an 8 meg ramdrive, copy the X-wing game files to that and run from there. No load times for the cut scenes or new missions, and I still had 8 meg to use for regular memory. X-wing only used 4 meg with all the options, so as long as I could get 620K free I was good to go.
"One of the interesting things - if you have a debate with most pro-capital punishment people, they go awfully quiet when you ask them what would they do if they were falsely convicted of a capital crime. How would they feel as they were about to be gassed for a crime they didn't commit?"
You would get pretty much the same reaction for any penalty. Proves nothing.
Alcohol kills brain cells, it's true. But it kills the weakest and most poorly adapted ones, just like Darwin says. That leaves your good brain cells unencumbered by the dead weight cells and they can function at full capacity. That's why you get so much smarter when you drink. Stolen and paraphrased from someone much funnier than I am.
I ordered one a bit ago and got an early version of the "Dark Side" model. All it did was whine and get all angsty when I asked it to do even the simplest tasks.
They are promising the next model of Dark Side will be more mature, though.
Does any one person have final creative say on a movie? Can the editors take a film and chop it up as they see fit thereby changing, for better or worse, the movie? Can the Executive Producer tell the director to change a character the EP doesn't like?
"Anything else requires trust, and I don't trust corporations because our interests are always in conflict."
MagicMike, a corporations interest is solely to provide a product you will pay for. That's it. They have no interest in you except as a paying customer or a competitor. They don't yet know how to deal when one person becomes both, so you get these tortured attempts at DRM, legislation, etc.
Please don't make Ender 6 Years Old. You aren't going to be able to pull it off with a real 6 yo kid, and casting a 13 yo kid to play a 6 yo isn't going to help. Just make Ender 22 and find some guy with actual acting talent play him.
And if Hayden Christiansen so much as drives by the set, I'm going to hurt someone. Badly.
Is finding some form of life less evolved than bacteria really a reason not to terraform Mars? From a practical standpoint, it seems like if we are going to try, and are capable of, making Mars habitable, finding microbes shouldn't stop us.
We displace plenty of animal life here on Earth; after all, we are the dominant species. Why should Mars be any diffent? Because in 2 billion more years something may evolve? Doesn't sound like a reason to stop to me.
Just incorporate the "evil bit". If something "evil" is being recorded, like a police beat down, it won't blur. But if it's inconvenient for you to be on film you can blur the image. Easy fix.
This thread is worthless without pics!

Now, how do I put my pic of Ackbar in here?

"Much to the annoyance of my wife,..."
Is this the wife who is always away on modeling assignments? The one you met at a truth telling contest 3 towns down?

It's 1999 again! Let the good times roll!

Sounds like a perfectly
Not written in the same spirit, but we can treat it like it was, and maybe it'll help people come to a conclusion of what the penalty should be.

I wonder what will take longer to hit the net: a DVD quality torrent of ROTS (no editing numbers), or a torrent of this home movie?
I'm betting on ROTS.
Funniest. Post. Ever.
Mod. Parent. Up.
...cause there isn't enough tinfoil in the world for guys like this.
Cause if it does, we all just won XBoxes!

Linux + Sci-fi + Detroit = Flying Car?

That burnination was worthy of Trogdor himself.
I can understand the use of a Maxima, it's a solid car. But pairing it with a Minima (I think it's Kia's Minivan model, not sure) is just silly.

Don't leave any doodles lying around this time.
