No. Yanking on the handbrake as hard as possible is dangerous.
Applying slow steady pressure, just like you would to the brake pedal, works fine.
And speed the speed is largely irrelevant. E brakes, while lacking the mechanical boost of the pedal, are more than capable of stopping speeding cars safely. (I actually had to do this once when I lost brake pressure due to a ruptured brake line)
Boeing also uses standard traditional controls (dual yoked wheels, that move in unison). Airbus uses electronic joysticks that lack tactile feedback and dont move in unison.
Screw the HOA. IANAL, and we just bought our first house (like you said, naive first time, learned a lot...never again shall i be fooled). But seriously, scrwe the HOA. IMO they dont get to dictate that my house should suck and waste money just because they are worried about thier values. father had trouble with HOA's growing up too. Similar thing, we had a bigger lot on the circle than most, due the shape of the surrounding lots, etc etc. Fther decided to put up a shed. Not just a prefab home depot thing, no sir. A good sized 18x25 real work shed on an actual slab foundation, fully wired power, etc etc. Oh how they complained: -it was an eyesore while it was being built (took ~1.5 years cause he did it by himself by hand) -noise complaints during construction (he only working during 9-5, and ironically, we were the first house sold in the area, so we had to deal with the noise while all the other houses were built around us) -constant false accusations of "no permits" (city finally threatened to charge that guy if he made another false accusation, cause father always had all the permits he needed when they came to check) -the "you're lowering our property values" claim, to where someone actually tried to get an injuction against us over that (was tossed)
We ended up moving less than a year after it was finished. But it had become a case where father wasnt going to backdown. And when we sold, my folks made a tidy profit over what they paid originally just 4 years before, and everyones elses values hadnt changed.
for a large city like new york another possible energy source is its own waste. and i dont just mean the barges of garbage. I mean the sewage from the largely ancient system under their streets, many parts of which is are no longer mapped or maintained (lost records), that dump into the river/bay. i know its not practical at this point to compeltely update/upgrade underground public works in an old old city like New York. but if they could trap as much sewage as possible, and turn and use it in a biofuel powerplant...
Misinformation. you're full of it. and again with the heater comment...just like the OP, another reading comprehension fail.
my car gets ~300 miles a tank. so does the Tesla. that's a reptty good comparison right there to be making. i have to refuel my car once a week. the Tesla never needs it, not for daily driving. my car was ~26k. Tesla S starts at 52k and goes to 85k (not 100k). fueling once a week, at the recent avg gas of 3.35 a gallon, spend ~40$ a week on gas. they say teh S is equiv to 100 mpg. 300 mile range, 3 gallons of gas. ~10$. 30$ a week I dont have to spend. 1560 a year. at the current rate, i'd need to drive it for ~16.5 years to break even from energy savings.
but then that's with a first line luxury model. saw the same thing with teh Prius and other hybrids when they first came out, vs now. more production, more demand, the price will drop. give a couple more years, and you'll see a mass market EV that functions as a complete replacements for the average people who only replace a car every 7-10 years, and people breaking even on fuel around the 3yr mark.
also..on long drives, why not stop and enjoy the countryside? its about the journey, not the destination. there's lots of stuff out there worth seeing.
you are putting words in the mouth of the writer. the blog never implied those things. it was directly refuting claims made by the reporter: he said did X, when he really did Y.
More importantly, let us not forget how the woman's rights are being abused and the harm being done to them by recieved 1k to 5k dollars per scene, while their male counterparts are getting between 250 - 1000 per.
Oh those dispicable chauvinists. Those poor women. So taken advantage of! UNITE SISTERS AND FREE THESE POOR WOMEN FROM THIS HORRIBLE CAREER THEY CHOSE!
watch on arm. magnetic coil on belt. as you swing your arms, the watch charges. why not? my father wore a self winding watch for years. never ever had to get a battery change, and kept great time. myself, i dont wear a watch.
I still use 2003 at home. There is nothing significant in any of the updates that I need, and the compatibility pack means I can open the latest document versions in 2003.
At work, we're stuck with whatever gets pushed by the server, which means 2012. But that's why God invented UBitMenu and similar addons.
dont i know it. and if you think those are big, should look at some of the contracts firms like ATS in Peoria, Ill, get for reverse engineering legacy hardware from firms that no longer exist. One of their biggest money makers.
they broadcast METV ota out here in oklahoma city, and it's actually not carried by Cox (that i've seen). I love it. I can watch Maude and Jeffersons and Mary Tyler Moore like i did as a kid, and I gotta say, Big Bang Theory should absolutely be ashamed of itself. it just doesn't even compare, even though those shows are 40+ years old.
Syfy won't go away. It'll just become the next SpikeTv....call it....AXE Tv.
Spike used to be TNN. TNN used to be The Nashvile Network. As they started showing less and less country/Nashville related programming, fewer outdoors shows, they started just going by the acronym more and more. Til people nearly forgot what TNN even stood for. Eventually, they just dropped even that, and now we have SpikeTV whos main claim to fame seems to be the 1000 Ways to Die show.
Or we could make the comparison to the lifecycle of everyones favorite computer/nerd channel....TechTv, now G$ I mean G4.
The main difference is that with a [horse], I can make unscheduled, unplanned trips whenever I wish without having to worry about where I will next refuel it - if I need fuel, I just [let him rest and eat some oats out of my bag, or grass off the ground], which there will be a plethora of [in the immiediate area] unless you are seriously out in the [desert]. [Resting the horse] takes 5 minutes, and I'm back on my way to my unplanned destination without issue.
One day I get to work and my phone rings - its my father, he's had a heart attack. He lives 250 miles away. I need to [ride] back home, grab a bag with a few essentials in it, and [ride] to the hospital. I don't want to have to [find some petrol] to [refuel] my vehicle, or stop en-route [at the general store] to top it up etc etc.
[Horseless carriages] are still crippled by the fact that you cannot ever have an unplanned excursion of any length in one.
its not about moderation. it's about vendettas. apple fanboys protecting their delicious fruit company, and people burying facts they dont like or agree with. the mod system here is a joke.
and these articles and the slashdot response to them are part of that race. these articles show up, and/. comments all over it, and the implications are always that "missouri's legislators are idiots" or "all missourians (sp?) all idiots".
and that's simply not the case.
A bill was introduced....ok. That takes just one person, one legislator, and in some states doesnt even take that as citizens can submit via petition or the governor or other officials can also introduce bills. The implicit statement or assumption of "haha they're all idiots" is therefore fallacious. It didnt say it was approved unanimously, it didnt even say it was voted on. it was simply introduced.
now motivation: the assumption, again, is "all those idiots are trying to brainwash people". First off most politicians, our opinions of them to the countrary, and ignoring the infrequent individuals like the "rape != pregnancy" genius, are not stupid. They know when something is patently false, or unconstitutional, or simply not going to get passed. Most of the time when you see something like this bill, or the other recent ones about "the fed's cannot enforce federal gun law in our state", they aren't being serious. They are pandering for votes! They are saying "look at me", "look what I done", "i'm being tough and standing up for you!"
Politics is a game and this is how it's played. These things become the source of sound bytes, they're used to shape the battlefield of public opinion so they can win elections. Few years ago when I was in GA still and Saxby Chamblis and the other guy were having a run off, the other was accused of "supporting the biggest tax increase in state history"....ya...a sales tax increase of something like 0.5% passed by unanimous vote when the state was running out of money...40 YEARS EARLIER!
Politics is a game and this is how it's played. These bills are not by and large serious endeavors. They are attempts to fortify positions for elections, knowing full well these bills will likely die and be forgotten and quietly buried.
But on/. we ignore that part of the story when it happens. We just jump all over the initial report and bash them first, and ignore the rest.
Simple solution: Steam for Linux downloads and installs Wine for you, preconfigured as needed.
also requires yanking hard and fast. slow steady pressure is how a normal person should be using it to brake.
Hold button 3-5 seconds.
or: open the in cabin fuse box and start yanking.
No. Yanking on the handbrake as hard as possible is dangerous.
Applying slow steady pressure, just like you would to the brake pedal, works fine.

did you understand the concept being conveyed?
then the phrasing did its job.
