Didn't see this subthread before my other reply. The fault is not yours, but rather, Lessig's. Or perhaps it is your fault, and the quote is out of context, and not 100% in support of what you are trying to say.
Does Lessig mention that Disney's two most profitable items are encumbered by IP? Mickey Mouse (no. 2) and Winnie the Pooh (no. 1) are both Disney's solely. (More or less. There is a lawsuit WRT Pooh). These two properties for a sizeable minority of Disney's profits.
I recently had to have a tv repaired. 35" tv. Cost about $900. Repair cost was $200. One of the circuit boards with the IR receiver died. I probably could have replaced it myself, but if I guessed incorrectly about which part was bad, I would have been out the $85 part. Do that a couple of times, and you've paid for the repair. Oh, that price included pickup and delivery. Too bad it didn't include plugging the inputs in correctly.
Play dumb. Really dumb. When they explain how it works, say 'I don't understand'. Repeat ad nauseum. It may take hours and hours and hours. Eventually, they will cave. If they kick you out without voting, you have grounds for a lawsuit. Or at least, tv coverage.
35 wpm? Pathetic. I could do 32 hunt and peck before taking a touch typing class in high school. When going for speed runs, I could get into the 120's with only a little pushing. After first semester in college (stop, not another paper) I could type at 90-100 wpm for hours with no fatigue.
It is for the former reason that it should be front page. IMNSHO.
Instead, we have 'Microsoft will try blogging service in Japan', ' ESA To Study Human Hibernation', and 'DEFCON WiFi Shootout Winners Set A Land Record'.
Why isn't this on the front page? Oh, right, let's bury news of problems with cool programs, but a minor issue (solved six months ago) in a Microsoft program gets front page mission.
Keep up the good work Rob. Hey, where are the 503's today? It hardly seems like the dot without them.
Yeah, yeah, -1, flamebait -1 troll. Who gives a crap? Not Rob or OSDTNVHPR
Driving a mass transit bus is nearly as fun as driving an 18 wheeler... err, a taxi... Nope, wait, got it.... a harley davidson. No, the transit bus can go 60 according to Speed...
Racer was mildly fun in the arcade, and not too bad at home. I was still using a Mac, so it was quite a while until I played the various x-wing titles.
I think Debian is a fine project, but to be fair you have to admit that the unstable and testing distributions break far too often to use on a production machine
Maybe the grandparent does, but I don't have to admit any such thing on my testing system. Been running testing since... Geez, I can't even remember. Sometime around when RedHat 7.0 came out. No more or less stable than any other distro.
I'm sure that unstable is... wait for it... UNSTABLE. But testing? No problems.
Has something to do with cookies. You probably have expired/. cookies in IE, so it works fine there. Your mozilla and firebird cookies are still good, so it's broke.
Read about it in fortknox's journal or on the sourceforge page for slashcode.

A better link shows that the asshat attorney was eventually disbarred. Good.
So Mattel picked up part of the tab of someone to whom their only relationship was to license their name? Sounds pretty decent of Mattel to me.
Ooh, I think we have a winner.
I'll probably go out with some sidewalk chalk and mark this one outside my polling place in November (If I can remember).
any chance of saving it as something that deadbeats like myself can open? pdf maybe?

I got a Mac Classic when new. And since Apple hardware never dies, I had it for a LOOONNNNGGGGGG time.

(/me knocks wood)
Yup, it's the End Times.
*bzzt* Sorry, you're wrong, thanks for playing. You forgot the perennial favorite:
Duke Nukem Forever... Who the hell knows.

Great. Now the EFF is going to be linked to the terrorists and get a visit from Ashcroft and the gang.
To add some padding to the tinfoil beanie: didn't Microsoft help fund both Sun and SCO? Is this decision at Microsoft's urging, or Sun's?
You're pretty smart. Did you go to Beverly Hills Upstairs Medical College too?
My personal favorite was some rich-bitch french girl who was almost completely naked in all of her shots on some beach.
You are so full of crap. Prove it. Show me a link. Let me see the pictures and judge for myself.
Have that selected. When I click on an it.slashdot.org link, I get that white on baby poop brown color scheme.
go to it.slashdot.org and you'll see what I mean.
Speaking of annoyances you don't have to live with, clicking this link removes the awful color scheme that /. has for the IT section.
Is she okay? MØØse bites can be pretty nasty.
