I had some thoughts along this line as well. You really are only distributing parts of the work (DVD).
What you need to do is to actually keep track of all the bits you distributed, and go to court with them as evidence. That being only 1/2 or 3/4 of the bits that comprise the whole DVD.
Write it to disc, pop it in a DVD player and show the jury exactly what you "shared" with everyone. An unplayable DVD.
This is just off the top of my head, but you could make them optional, and then filter any chat that was not coming from somebody with an eID card on the client. Kinda like a parental control on the IM/Chat client. This might be useful.
"it is our expectation that the next iteration of the Open Format standard will include some Microsoft proprietary formats."... or am I missing something? The open format standard will include proprietary formats?
Ye of little faith. Wasting your time reposting this article in a comment, when we all know we'll see it again in a couple weeks after 'W' makes some more moise with his big plans.
While I understand your point here, I doubt the intentions of this idiot were to actually bring the plane down. I'm betting his intentions were more likely to entertain himself.
As such, I think 25 years would be a bit harsh for being an idiot. However, if he had actually succeeded in bringing down the plane he'd be an idiot and a murder, and should be put to death.
I can understand some people concerns, but imagine this...
Joe Sixpack starts using "Open Source App" on Windows and loves it. Billy and his cronies get upset because Joe Sixpack isn't using "Microsoft App". So, Microsoft makes it so "Open Source App" no longer works on Windows because it's not Microsoft certified. Joe Sixpack gets upset, and finally sees a reason to switch to Linux over Windows.
Now, the details of this senario can be debated, but you get my drift. I don't see how Microsoft and a popular open source application running on Windows can both exist at the same time, do you?

Speaking of what Kim Jong Il says ... Here's a link to his diary which includes some IMs between our own W and Il. It's truly reveling.

... is being dead the only way to save an innocent person from the wraith of the RIAA?
What if she weren't dead? Would they have believed her that she was not 'smittenedkitten'?

Wait, I guess this could be considered one way of "beating" your opponent. I stand corrected.

If it were any good it would recognize any link from slashdot and take you directly to porn, without having to type even a 'p'.
