I've got 12 WD 120GB 7200rpm special edition drives (8mb cache on each).
They're all hooked up to a 3ware Escalade 7500-12 card, RAID5, with a hot spare. Application is storage of large amounts of raw digital images 7-8MB each.
Been going for a few weeks now, no problems, 2.4.19 kernel's built in drivers lights the array right up as sda1.

I would show you more but I'm ssh'd in and the power just went out. The 300VA ups running this box while I'm testing it probably just let its smoke out. Doh.
Visor Edge. Just $169 straight from handspring, free shipping, and a free aluminum hardcase (and a damn fine case IMHO). $160 from amazon w/ free shipping and no case however.
Its a combined limit versus two seperate limits. This isn't complicated.
If it was $400/person, marge and homer go shopping in Tokyo, and they have to try to evenly split their purchases between each other (especially if dealing with credit cards) to get the most from their $400 limits.
If its $800/couple, then marge and homer can spend without worrying about who the purchases are associated with, as their limits are combined.
You're missing the point. Why would a hacked or fake client play by the rules and report the correct ID/MAC? They could just make one up and send it out!
Not to mention than with some cards, you can alter your mac address. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
They're very well put together machines, you can lock them, and if someone opens the case when you're not there, you are alerted when the machine boots up. "Alert! Cover previously removed!". - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I'm sure anyone who gave NASA flack about this was just uninformed...
10base2 can be used with cable which is quite well shielded, and thus less susceptible to interference. (Of course I'm sure you could build a 10baseT cable with similar properties) and whats the last time you saw a BNC connector's retention mechanism break off? The clips on RJ45 can be kind of fragile. And of course, as the previous poster said, you don't need power, and theres no hub/switch to fail. I believe there are some products which offer protection against disconnections/loss of termination by auto terminating the cables somehow, not sure of the specifics. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I guess we'll all have to go to AOL... I think I'll kind of like it. Its so easy, no wonder its number one! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I for one welcome our new meme-stealing overlords.
Warning sign #1 -- you are discussing slashdot IDs.
Warning sign #2 -- your slashdot ID gains you major bonus points.

I downloaded this off kazaa like 2 weeks ago, duh.

Anyway I like it. If its not fried.
And that $300 Viper alarm is really only a $115 viper alarm, with $185 of 'free' installation built into the price.
That will be all.

Why don't you pick up an x-terminal to use as an x-terminal?

I've always wondered how they got batch files to do so much, now we can find out!

- Opening the case...
- Accessing the expansion cards...
- Removing and installing drives...
