but "enterprise" (aka Patronage Fiefdoms) prefer to spend big money on invoices from other "enterprises" rather than trust their own people to do anything. That way if anything goes wrong they can just blame the vendor, have someone to sue, etc.
It's pathetic but we have a lot of pathological culture in our large organizations. Starting with them being run by people who don't know how to do jack shit but get hired as "executives".
they should be sued. the company has been absolutely ruined.
the prices even then were cheap, 7 companies controlled 90% of the market? Fucking hell of a lot better than MOST ANYTHING going on in this country. Choices for internet I have: three. one and a half of which are comcast, the other shitty phone company dsl.
This is actually the NEXT BIG THING. American consumers are getting screwed constantly by these middleman companies that just slap a logo on commodity grade goods and sell it for an absurd markup. Price underwear sometimes, it's insane. and surprise surprise, no real price competition. Well, they compete to see who can sell the most expensive.
consumer revolt now:)
any common idiot could have predicted this, too bad microsoft only listens to extraordinary idiots.
they scared the end-user away and even more advanced users didn't realize how easy it was to ditch Metro. Yet even ditched it's annoying that it's there. Win 7 didn't need to be replaced, they've got a good thing here.
Why in hell they thought a PC needed a tablet interface will be a question people ask for a long time to come.
anyway, a mouse is better than fingers unless you have to lug the thing around in your hand.
Let's snoop on everyone! Or we could just establish real world precautions that prevent people from smuggling anthrax out of labs and that sort of thing.
any thoughts on how to make mobile info tech less addictive? We know it's constantly tickling the reward system, and people increasingly feel significant anxiety when separated from their devices.
Do you see any reason at all to think we're not just inventing the ultimate conditioning tool? Particularly once we go to continuous input via say gGlass.
for a small forum site.
IPs from china were taking up gigabytes of data transfer every day. they were just scraping the whole forum almost daily. soon as I block a few ips, within a day or two another one started doing it. Baidu spider was a problem, but the content scrapers were something else. So in effect, they FORCED me to block the site from their people. Either that or I pay massive bandwidth costs to their robots.
a quest for truth is not conducted by all the usual suspects in a witch hunt fashion. Anyway, if "mistakes were made" the first place you might want to look at is the giant CIA building near the embassy, and maybe your republican friends can out a few more facts in their oh-so-honest "quest for truth" - as if they'd know truth if it bit them on the ass.
whatever went wrong will be fixed, the right-tarded wingnut witch hunt routine isn't going to help.
oh shut up. I'm so sick of you cry-baby right-tards wanting to make a big deal about this attack. ever hear of 9/11 ? when you show even half as much interest in going after bush, I might start to take you people seriously.
or even better, just install:
ClassicShell from sourceforge
it defaults to "skip metro"
give you a start button that's very customizable
there's a classic Explorer part too that you can optionally install
and a setting to disable the 'hot corners'
Very nice software, I've been using it since windows 7 came out

get a new team. start over from scratch. it's not that fucking hard a problem.
This is the most asinine and inappropriate choice I have ever seen. I'm just shocked. Seriously, they are committing corporate suicide.
it baffles me the foolish bullshit some paid pundits pump. tablets are for CONSUMERS only. PCs enable you to be a PRODUCER. 'nuf said

well, I like the many balloons idea in principle, as it would be simple to turn off should that seem advisable.

any comment on developments regarding the geoengineering patent?
bingo
yeah, his mother should have pulled her gun and shot her son. FFS
due to the use of cross-hatching type paterns, and issues around line-thickness

yeah, don't hold your breath waiting on right-tards to be consistent or anything. then there was 9/11 "bin laden determined to strike in US" ignored.

Not a surprise that it's vulnerable, but it is surprising how badly they stored the passwords.

sorry, but I think this is wild bullshit
get ClassicShell (from sourceforge) make the show desktop command run on login you're done, now it works like a normal windows PC
setup a "show desktop" command file, set it to run on user login. I don't even see metro, seems to just go right to desktop
yeah, I had the same problem, and trouble following discussions. I just switched back to the "classic" mode. much better.
