    Sapphire is *not* the second hardest material known. Yes, it's written in the linked article, but it is also definitely wrong.

    Maybe they mean second hardest transparent material - which is kind of important for displays.

    No, I don't know that it is bullshit. Is it speculation? Of course, that is why I wrote the word probably.

    Of course, if Apple had closed Webkit, they wouldn't have benefited from the enormous investment of Google to its development.

    Google wouldn't have been able to "invest" in Webkit if it wasn't for Apple. And they sure as hell wouldn't have spend any time or money invested in KHTML. So Apple gave to Google.

    Of course, the reason I know is because I get interested in learning more about why people are assholes ... And in this particular case, I found out that he wasn't nearly as bad as the haters want to make it out.

    Of course for most here the actual issue is "why can't I get away with being an asshole".

    They stopped in 1997 when Jobs came back, one of his first acts was to kill any donations, including to all non-tech charities. Jobs was a cunt.

    Because he stopped a money losing company from spending money? Hey, whoever gave money to Apple back than can demand money from Apple now - all others may politely ask.

    If you look at the heatmap of downtown San Francisco and you click off Apple you'll see that there are plenty of android users in wealthy areas. The apple red just blocks you from seeing the android blue underneath. So IMHO, Android has a lot of wealthy users but Apple only has wealthy users.

    Well, somebody with an Android has to mow the lawn.

    Simple answer: It didn't. Many Android devices had screen capture included in the carrier-ware, or in a custom rom that you would use to remove the carrier-ware. So very, very few people even realized that Android did not have native screen capture capability until version 3, which was the tablet only version.

    Yeah, all they had to do was Google for "my Android phone model + my provider + screenshot" - nothing could be more obvious.

    The thing I took away from this is that Apple users are just stupid. They will pay extra for a 3rd party item that does something the base product already does.

    You take that away from an Android guy looking for a third party app for his Android, and one iPhone user saying it was in the OS from the start. Gee, what am I supposed to take away from your post?

    Yep, it's an abuse of statistics. The fact is that the Android market is so much drastically larger than that of the iOS market (nearly at 80% marketshare now with Apple down below 15% IIRC?)

    No honey, pretending that the theoretical market based on marketshare (and that's even ignoring phone isn use) is more important than the actual measurable market, that is an abuse of statistics.

    I don't think you're familiar with European budget airlines. You can choose your seat when booking if you're willing to pay extra. Maybe a dozen people per flight have reserved seats, and the rest work on the basis of first come, first served.

    Sure, but they will always check if there's an extra passenger on board, because else they may run out of fuel.
