When I was in school 20 or so years ago, candy, cake and soda was for birthdays only. How is the situation at your kids' school today and do you think that this has any relation to the amount of obese kids at said school.
The fat kid in my school, wasn't very active.
So maybe this is a case of "Event and Cause" instead of "Cause and Event".. poor eating habits => fat kids => no activity (not the other way around)

In my neck of the woods, we pay 28 cents/KwH (1,6066 DKR).. your 50 year ROI becomes a measly 8 years.. still longer than most people live in one place, but a battery of sun panels on the roof probably will up the value of a house (I wouldn't mind paying extra). I can see why you disagree with my coment, I should have included the calculation before..
Hydro and geothermal wasn't what I was refering to, but more the things you can do in your own home, to get around the electricity bill. This guy is using a waterwheel.. normally I would consider hydro a huge (government type) investment, but hey.. you got to use what is at hand..
While they don't have fuel costs, I understand that geothermal power currently has issues with maintenance costs. The steam has corrosive elements in it that results in increased mainentance required. Not saying that this outweighs the fuel costs of coal, but they are there. Just like even wind requires maintenance, and with solar you need to clean the solar panels occasionaly... whereas coal, gas or oil requires much less than a cleaning-lady with a duster..
Take into account, that wind, water and solar, though needing maintainance, does not pollute the environment. (burning coal results in increased cleaning requirement on nearby solar panels:-) On the down side, theese facilities do not demand for a huge investment, eliminating the potential for a huge profit.
The traditional alternative energy sources DO result in cheaper electricty, as the facilities can be so small, that the consumer can carry the investment himself, thus scoring the profit after a reasonable time.
As the iPhone only launch in the States, European customers will need a cool product to buy for a while.. Chances are, that Apple will slam som more memory in the nano's and fill THAT vacum:-)

What about the 18 year old with a 17 year old girl friend? Age of consent 14. With an "decipt"-loophole at 16 (an adult is not allowed to sweet talk under-16s into bed). Prostitution below 18 is illegal. So, all in all, your example is perfectly allright. (18/16 would be too, 18/15 and 18/14 would probably be judged in each case). You don't turn adult the second you turn 18.
How is that law worded, does courts have the possibility to use their own judgement?
The reason for judges is to have a judgement in each case. Nothing is automatic. "Judge" is a job not an appointed political position, in some countries;-)

Furthermore, the gigapxl camera is usable for "things that move", whereas the stitching really isn't.. unless you have 40x40 cameras..

There are some very interesting small turbines comming out that have a quite low ROI even compared with the price you pay..
