I am pretty sure that MS, Cisco and Checkpoint will have mandatory backdoors for their VPN services, and that it wont help to your security not using private certificates.
Banks are not "uncomfortable with the amount of information Apple wants to collect about its customers". Banks and competing services are really uncomfortable into having another competitor, losing control over your data and things you buy. The rest is just bullshit. It is amazing what Apple can motivate people to do, even in the shithole I live, until Apple announced the service nobody ever heard about NFC payments, now I know of at last 2 or 3 major bank services offering them. My own dad even received by email a new bank card with NFC, and the worrying part is that for payments bellow 20 euros, it does not require authentication. At least with Apple Pay you have to use your finger.
Try to have too many devices in that area and see what happens. It is not beautiful. In a corporate/private setting you have to protect your own channels for instance. People should not feel entitled to bring what they want and expect it to work, at least not without changing to pre-approved channels for instance. That would be a reasonable approach to the problem. Otherwise maintaining a quality of service is not feasible no matter how you invest in equipment. The question is more than a mere "annoyance" as you call it. You probably own a car, do you think that following the traffic rules and no way signals hamper their functionality too? Hey, they are able to drive anywhere they fit... The points here are both cultural and technical. A culture of entitlement and limitations of the technology.
I have always heard that there has to be quotas in good paying and "easy" jobs who predominately are dominated by males. IT people (if that is a good job, but it is an argument for another day), board director members, politicians... but what about quotas for lorry drivers, garbish collectors, nurses,.... you got the idea. It has nothing to do with this being a tech site, it is a society bias you ignore very conveniently. But please, do keep calling me a conspiracy nut.
Who cares about BluRays or the regular movie distribution nowadays? There are already content out...lots of 4K porn movies and clips for starters. Have not checked one yet. There are also already some 4K movies - I have 2 or 3 and boy they are gorgeous. Youtube has already 4K movies and lots of trailers, and watching the place of my holidays, Palawan or my hometown in 4K, is a delight to the eyes. Amazon is already streaming 4K movies and Netflix will follow suite. Satellite TV Channels in 4K will appear in 2015. Also my MacbookPro already outputs 4K and it makes for a superb extra monitor or for showing movies or photos. P.S. I no longer own DVD or BluRay players at all.
Often I wonder wether MS just codes poor apps or they write apps with problems on purpose to diminish the good experience on competing platforms. I only used iWork apps for iPhone/iPad for this particular reason, and because they integrate quite well with the ecosystem, and on top of that they read and save MSOffice formats.
This is not a troll, I do not know why this guy was modded down. It is a very valid opinion, and the modding just because I do not like it is getting severely out of hand. BTW, 4K TVs are already accessible now.
The comment is rather spot on. We have not seen significant improvements in cpu power and memory for a while. My iphone 6 and my macbook pro could be a little faster.
Same problem here in Portugal. I have an huge collection of english books. There are many ways to get around the country zone in the Internet age, personally it is not worth the bother. And for many, it is far easier to get a "pirate" copy. That is because of this bonehead policies of trying to transfer an outdated model to a new world that pirate contented is much more user friendly. It is fairly easy to guess who loses in the process because it does not adapt to new technologies, and then has the nerve to cry wolf.

The problem with Debian is that for whatever reason they ignored the power of linux, choice. At least in Debian 8, it is still trivial to make it use sysvinitrc instead of system. Why not let people choose, instead of forcing it upon new upgrades, and worse insult yet, make current systems upgrade to systemd by default?

The thing, that due to abuses in the past, only people with special authorisations, mainly people conducting investigations can get permits from the government. The general public is restricted to the 1s km.
I used to drive next to the other car when I started driving...it was disruptive enough for a novice driver to have idiots fill up that space. Nowadays, I am more generous in space, and often in a while someone will fill that spot often in a while. Such is the dynamic of the traffic. However I prefer to drive safe than be another idiot on the road.
