  1. They're still blaming Reagan. Not as much, but still. And Bush. And Bush. And now Trump. And occasionally Nixon. And FDR (by Occasionally Coherent). And Jefferson. And George.

  2. Having classified email on a "home" computer IS ILLEGAL. Subject to fines and imprisonment. Look it up. If she bothered with security briefings she would have known. Heck, if she had a *brain* she would have known. But rules/laws are for "deplorables", not her.

  3. "Like I said, people were donating to gain favour. " Also known as bribery...

  4. How about moving that to the appropriate topic? Besides, this topic is about services google killed, not services google failed to add.

  5. FOSS can indeed die. If not updated, it could conceivably not run on newer machines. Now it will still run on your existing machine, but what about when you have to upgrade (if nothing else, the existing machine dies)? But I understand your point and it is valid. *Somebody* can't take it away; it just might die a natural death. And will likely outlive the Microsoft/Google/etc equivalent.

With "reparations" making a comeback in the democrat party, that may become a serious issue. How many "white" people have an ancestor that is "black"? I've got one that came from the slave coast of Africa...pretty sure how that one came over here (some of my ancestors sold some of my other ancestors into slavery). So, how do we determine who is black and who is white anyway? As far as I'm concerned I'm just human....breeds are for dogs. Why can't we just drop it?

NPR has always had a liberal slant. However, they used to be more cerebral about it and not insulting to other trains of thought. Kind of like Joe Lieberman was. Well, the democrats canned Joe (he won anyway), and NPR has lost journalistic integrity to the point I can't listen to it. The last time was during the "Russians/Trump is obviously true" despite total lack of evidence. Shame. I used to listen to the Other Side's arguments when they were well-reasoned and not just insulting. Now they're just a calmer version of MSNBC.

Who KNOWS for sure what's going to happen in 100 years? I've listened to too many sky-is-falling proclamations from scientists and politicians alike in the last 30 years. I have no faith that they can predict that far in advance. In fact, according to 10+ years ago we only had 10 years to fix things or we're done for. When they quit flying to their "climate change conferences", when they start practicing what they preach, until they come up with solutions other than "Give me money" "Give me power" then I'll believe them. Until then, this whole thing is too politicized to believe EITHER side as having the gospel truth.

  19. Great Depression: Read the timeline; you'll see that things starting to recover. Then FDR implemented program after program, with the result of the recovery stalling and things going back in the tank. This continued until WWII, when more important things came to the forefront.
