    the founding fathers were rolling in their graves as soon as our government started trying to limit our rights to guns. they didnt give us the right to bear arms to defend ourselves against muggers, they gave us the right to bear arms so we would have the weaponry required to overthrow the government if necessary

    well, they DO have access to internet, they just dont want to move out of certain areas to get it. there are libraries in pretty much every major city in the country

    well, the internet voting would just be extra, it wouldnt be the only form of voting, at least until everyone has access to it.

    how is that racist? it is a government id for all citizens? if you are now going to tell me that some races are too poor to have internet, im going to tell you that you are a racist...everyone in the country has access to internet in some form or fashion by now. you can go to a coffee shop and get free internet for gods sake

    microsoft is retarded. they should realize by now that every time they try and oversimplify something related to programming, they end up making it more difficult than actually coding...just look at the .net stuff in visual studio... it is totally worthless. or look at wordpress(which isnt done by microsoft), it is more difficult for anyone to use after the site is created.

    that may be true, however, he was acting as a president of a company when he made the decision not to give up the data to the NSA, not a person, it is very different from a driver killing people. the NSA cant go after everyone in teh company because they wouldnt give up information.

    it isnt law enforcement that monitors everything... it is our government. law enforcement just abuses information and doesnt really follow the law

    if his company was incorporated, he cannot be charged with anything on a personal matter. if he dissolves his company, they cant do anything to him (legally). i doubt they care about legality though, because they are a ridiculous government organization that answers to noone. honestly what i suggest is to encrypt everything in some ridiculous encryption that the NSA would take decades breaking, then hand it over fully encrypted without the key. as he is handing over the data, he is complying with the order to hand over the data.

    even if they dont prosecute ppl for downloading, the internet companies do throttle your internet if you get caught torrenting.

    a few. though i cant say it is really worth it for them. they went after some guy a little while ago, it cost them a few hundred thousand dollars in court costs, and the guy ended up paying a fine of a few hundred dollars. the mpaa and riaa dont really care about money, they only want to be punitive because they are mad that ppl are finding ways around their ridiculous money schemes

    no, what they are doing is purposely being difficult in order to avoid dealing with ridiculous lawmaking from our government. they are making a statement saying "see, we can be ridiculous too". and the best thing is? it is legal for them to do so. the issue at hand is that for years, the federal law stated that you only pay sales tax if there is a brick and mortar store(or warehouse) in that state. the government has recently been changing it so that the states can charge sales tax even if there isnt a brick and mortar store. this is bad for amazon, and im sure it is worse for amazon than the profit loss from ppl not wanting to rent books from them. the reason they can offer such a cheap price all the time is that they dont have to have sales tax. with taxes, they will lose a huge portion of their profit.

    i dunno what bandwidth you get, or where you go for sites... but i get 5mbps(which is total crap) and i can stream 720p without buffering time

    well, it is currently not against the law to watch streamed copies of movies and tv shows online(at least in the US)...but most average people dont know this.
