    I've tried calling Verizon support a couple of times and the experience is about as pleasant and productive as banging my head on a wall.

    That's still much better than my ISP.

    No company or service is eternal. Gmail will cease to exists one day, the question is "when?"

    So let's take poaching as seriously as we do "MERICAFREEDOMFUCKYEAH" (or whatever country) and just make a genuine concerted effort to exterminate the poachers.

    The hunters become the hunted. Promote it as a hunting sport/capital punishment thing and add paid live streaming worldwide.

    The problem isn't unique to the geek forums: almost no one on the net makes the effort to open channels of communication with those outside their own group.

    It's true if you look at CNC forums and 3D printer forums. The same things keep getting re-invented all the time on both sides.

    Still using a non-widescreen monitor here, browser is always full-width, can't make it any wider.

    Same problem here, can't read titles. The font setting used by Slashdot means I always need to +1 the zooming, which means icons overlapping the titles. A rollback on both the icons and the "read more (x comments)" would also be appreciated.

    Rightsholders keep pushing the fact that we're buying a personal use license to the media when we buy a CD/DVD/etc, so why is making a mere copy for personal use unlawful in any way?
