That was tossed out of court. At no time where any freedom of speech issues at stake here. It was a pissing match between two idiots that made it to court.
One guy thinks he could do everything better than a company he hired and the other guy that did a reletivley poor job at putting up auctions. They ended up in court and the court pretty much thought they where both idiots and chastised the lawyer of one of the parties.

After losing its request for a preliminary injunction, BidZirk appealed to the Fourth Circuit, which denied its request. Very messy discovery followed, with both parties getting chastised for their conduct*. Finally, in this ruling, the court granted Smith summary judgment, and threw in some sanctions against plaintiffs' counsel to boot."
Somebody didn't like a company and posted a nasty opinion of them. They got their lawyer to sue. The case went to court and was tossed out.

A nice small 10 or even a 5 MT weapon would be good enough.
There was a plan to use the N1 to carry it.
Of course Russia did look at the idea of a real doomsday weapon system based on this bomb.
The idea was that they build an even bigger version and put them in ships along with a good amount of iron I believe. The Ships would have sensor on them to detect radiation. If they detected that a nuclear war had started they would blow up and spread fallout over the planet.
The USSR decided that it was a "bad plan".
The who has a bigger bomb was actually a contest that the US dropped out of very early in the game.
The US realized that super big bombs where not as useful as smaller bombs places closer to the target.
All you have to do see proof of this is look at the size and yields of the Minuteman and Polaris missiles. There are very few targets that you need a multi-megaton weapon to destroy. Trust me a "small" 100 kt weapon in the middle of LA, Washington, New York, London, Paris, Moscow, or Berlin is well into the range of "good enough".

As to which is better I vote for CDMA. The new high speed version of GSM is moving to a more CDMA like system but for the the big reason I like CDMA better is whenever anyone in my office uses a GSM phone I can hear interference on my PC speakers!

  15. How Apple is destroying the Music industry. on NBC Chief Slamming Apple · · Score: 1

It is simple. Back in the 1950s and even 1960s people would buy a thing called a single. It was a 45 RPM record and is was pretty cheap. It only had two songs on it. If you liked a song by a group you would by the single. Only if you really liked the artist would buy the album. To sell albums artists had make at least most of the songs on the album worth listening to.
On day a brilliant record exec saved the blessed music company by killing the single! Oh how they thought this man was going to bring destruction a woe but they where wrong. He knew that people would buy the album just for one song. You could fill the albums with crap and they would still buy it. So instead of making a little money off a good single from a one hit wonder you could make ten times that from that one song by selling it only on an album.
The money did flow and the people did rejoice.
Then the great evil Jobbs brought back the single. Now sorrow in the land of cocaine and private jets. No more can on catchy tune sell an entire album. And what is worse is that now the great evil villainous hoard called the customer can steal the very bread, champaign, and caviar from the mouths of the noble record company by just buying the songs they want.

I don't doubt that analog may sound better to some people. Better is a completely subjective term. I doubt that it reproduces the sound of the recording more accurately. The white noise and other noise that you hear in an analog recording may actually be more pleasing to some people than a more accurate digital recording.
I take issue with the idea that vinyl produces a more accurate recording. I can see how the added distortion and white noise may be comforting.

Vinyl doesn't have an infinite resolution anymore than a photograph does. You can not keep blowing up a photograph even though it is an analog recording medium. Vinyl does have a finite resolution just like digital methods.
And guess what? They will still use digital equipment in the studios because there is no quality loss when making copies! They will just move the DAC stage from your receiver to the cutting head for the record.
Nope your as wrong as any creationist and showing just as deep an understanding of science.

Yes the loudness wars are making CDs crap but that has nothing to do with digital vs analog.

I hate to sound like a member of the tin hat bunch but I have to wonder if this isn't a brilliant plan by the music companies to sell you the same music yet again! It is a lot harder to rip a record and put it on your ipod than a CD. So they sell you the "Better sounding" record for your home stereo and then the digital download full of DRM for your music player.
