I'm sure this wasn't just some bullshit to try and make Americans trust the NSA... "ohhh they are at least protecting our data from other agencies that want to farm it". No one is falling for it. Move along...
Not at all. But the problem here, is that it is on by _default_. If you called up to request that pr0nz be blocked it is a different story entirely. But in a sense this is a government imposed censoring of the internet. Which IMO is wrong, unless the user asked for it.
You know, I really love Radiohead. Back when the RIAA started getting all hot in the pants about mp3s, Radiohead release their new album for free on their site. You simply went to the site and downloaded it, with the option of donating. Now this... Thom, and the rest of Radiohead have my respect.
This makes no sense. What difference would it make if the UN controlled the internet? They would be just as oblivious to what the NSA Was doing as everyone else. The problem here was that corporations were pressured to add the little black box to their network. Example: The US has no control over the internet in other countries... the hosting country does... But yet... Their governments AND corporations played ball with the NSA. Sounds like you need to focus on your own government instead of making a bullshit scape goat story to try and push your political agenda Putin.
I 100% agree with you. Why are we letting these idiots make decisions that utilize tax payer money when they clearly have no real understanding of how the systems work. Why is it that all these asshats that call themselves management end up getting to make technical decisions!?
They've effectively used the patriot act to circumvent the 4th amendment. The 4th amendment has nothing to do with putting you out of home, or taking your copies of the data... it has to do with guarding against unreasonable search and seizure. In this case copying all of my emails is unreasonable search.
Why should they be able to tell what kind of porn I subscribe to?
Why should they get to see a copy of my significant other naked?
The answer is, they shouldn't. But they were given the ability to circumvent the constitution in the name of "national security". Terrorists are just the new Commies. That's the problem.
What is all the hype with saying LOOK ITS MADE OF PLASTIC!!! I SMUGGLED IT IN!!! No kidding... its made of something they don't detect... I hope people who sit there and do this get executed. All you are doing is pushing the envelope for them to regulate 3d printers. Thank you for your contributions.
So military is sworn to the uphold the constitution... but what if you are given a direct order which contradicts the constitution. Do you take the court marshal for disobeying a direct order? or kill the civilian?
I sure hope so. He thinks it will make less whistleblowers lol...

I see this turning into a lawsuit when real estate prices start to be affected by it.
You know... I would really like for them to not be able to use my tax dollars to track me. It's rather insulting really...
minus the 0day binary rules

Am I the only one here who likes porn? I would hate to have to make the call of shame.... "uh...isp...can you....uhh.....un block my pr0n?"
lol welcome to china

So how is this "mac specific" or an "exploit"... and not just... a popup?
Depends on the payload really. I dont know the details of the exploit, but if it requires dumping shellcode... that would make it OS specific.

For those of you who love gun control... this is why you should own guns.

srsly? im 28, and i was in hs in NYC when 9/11 happened. So I kind of disagree.
yea... clearly they already have a list of your facebook friends.
no it's not. It's the CIAs job.
They have a little blackbox on every major DC's routers anyway. So its not like they cant setup an "intercept". For your data.
you need wine!
better than getting shot with rubber bullets.
