  1. Re:Oh the irony on Boston Marathon Bomber Charged With Using 'Weapon of Mass Destruction' · · Score: 1

Not only does the military use this new definition of weapons of mass destruction on a daily basis, they do so in the United States. All the bombing tests that go on here can now be described as the US using weapons of mass destruction on American soil.

  2. Would you feel better if he stabbed 237 people to the same effect?

But then his knife would be a weapon of mass destruction!

You see when someone breaks the law and is convicted by their peers in open court, they are then a criminal.

The only indeterminate bit is "innocent unless proven guilty" bit. But it is REAL simple to decide who a criminal is. Millions of people do that professionally each day.

    Break the law == Criminal
Blow up civilians == Terrorist (unless it was collateral damage, or if you attack our military installations, or you were hit by gunfire deliberately by us, or...)

Someone modded this out of view (I blame the NSA) but the point is valid.

You dont have to do anything illegal or go to court and be convicted to be deemed a terrorist. Get that di** out of your ear

  5. Just Terrifying on US Senators: NSA Lies In Fact Sheets · · Score: 1

"We believe the US government should have broad authorities to investigate terrorism and espionage and that it is possible to aggressively pursue terrorists without compromising the constitutional rights of ordinary Americans."

Terrorism is an ill defined concept, legally speaking. This still allows them to strip the rights away from any US citizen they deem to be a terrorist.

I am in the same position. I worked at a start up with 60+ hr weeks that went south. My next gig was a simple 9-5 position, so I have so much more time on my hands.

Somehow I managed to fill that time with all sorts of crazy adventures and meet many new cool people. The key: get out of the house and be daring.

Last night my evening consisted of a transvestite (with one hell of a good voice), a bad cross-dresser, a human pincushion, want to be poets, and a phone conference with the writer of Naked gun, hot shots 1 & 2, and police academy.

Point is, life is awesome. Enjoy it

You are discussing a different issue. This is invasion of privacy from our government not from individual to individual. This is all used for population control by our government. We've moved from a government that is in place to serve the people to one that manipulates and controls them.

Imagine if the Nazi regime had access to this amount of data mining?

    "Are you jewish?"

Look at a map at Panama and Nicaragua. If its going to take 5.2 billion to widen the Panama canal, how much will it cost to build a new one across a country more than twice the width of Panama? More than $40 billion I think.

Also the article says the aim is to "weaken US dominance over the key shipping route between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans." The Panama canal is owned by Panama. Has been since 1999.

Im glad Im not the only one who read that far. By the sound of it this would be like writing a secret message on a piece of paper. Then taking that paper and mushing it back into pulp, washing it and turning it back into paper. Yes there is "hidden data," but can we ever recover it? Lets then say that they determine how to reassemble the data from that near complete destruction, once one person knows how to do it, then everyone knows and the data can be captured and hacked just like any other technology.

With the advancements in biotechnology and human computer interfaces, it wont be long before the phone will become an integral part of us, literally.
