I bet it won't have cablecard slots. It will probably be either some kludgy IR blaster or some sort of interactive HDMI connection that won't work with 90% of cable boxes out there, thus rendering one of its biggest selling points basically worthless for the vast majority of users. This is MS we're talking about, after all.
He means the Xbox Live Gold subscription, not the Netflix one. Unlike every other device on the market, Xbox requires you to pay them $50/year just to access the Netflix app (on top of what you pay Netflix)
When I saw that part of the presentation, I laughed. The first thing I would do if I had one of these would be to turn that stupid voice feature off. It's going to be turning on every time I used the word "on" in a conversation.

Microsoft Unveils Xbox One

Xbox customers are extremely loyal, to the point of sycophancy.
Not this one. I've been an Xbox owner since the Xbox 1. But I've grown tired of having to pay $50/year for basic stuff like using the Netflix and Hulu apps. I'm also sick of the ad-heavy new home UI, the shitty new Netflix UI, and the fact that MS has spent years dropping all their best first-party developers.
I was vastly underwhelmed by today's unveiling (seriously, a Halo TV show, wtf?!?!?). The fact that the didn't even address the "always on" requirement for single-player titles rumors tells me all I need to know. Combine that with a bunch of "cloud" shit, no interesting exclusives, a new cable interface that probably won't even work with my cable system, and hardware that's no better than the PS4--and it all adds up to a great big cup of who-gives-a-fuck.
This Xbox fanboy is probably going PS4 this time around. At least it will save me $50 a year.
Unless it has a couple of Cablecard slots on back, I don't see how that's going to work either. If it's going to be some kludgey IR blaster setup, then forget it. And my cableco's cable boxes don't have any other interface that I'm aware of.
I really wanted to learn Mandarin Chinese back in school here in the U.S. But almost no school, secondary or college, offers it. Everyone just offers the same old Spanish/French/German--as opposed to Chinese, which would actually be REALLY useful in this modern world.

I've found that the "It's my party and no one else is invited" syndrome permeates all too many OSS projects. Finally stopped offering to help after encountering one too many projects that act like the snobby fraternity from a bad 80's movie. Now I do my own stuff and forgo the projects that have already started.
I don't consider these movies Trek. Trek was about societies working together to solve problems and striving to become better--not about action scenes and explosions.
That's because the reality is that most people don't use advanced mathematics (or, these days, hardly any mathematics at all) in their day-to-day lives. Most simple mathematical exercises in the modern world have been automated, and the complex stuff is largely the purview of engineers and other specialized pros. Academia is the only place most people ever encounter it, and very few people spend their whole lives as students (my son being a rare exception).
Go check out some of the gear in the Spy Museum some time. You would be amazed at how lame and silly some of the CIA equipment has been over the decades, not to mention their instruction manuals (which are often downright bizarre and intentionally hilarious).
Keep in mind that the CIA is not exactly known for recruiting the best and brightest. When it comes to recruits, they have traditionally valued loyalty and obedience over actual intelligence.
They tried to hire you, dude. But for some reason you wouldn't take the generous $15,000-year/no-benefits package they offered, so they had to import Sanjay.
Does any reputable university even offer a BS in computer science at present? For a field you would think would be at the cutting edge, I've found in the past that there are very few (reputable, not some Devry shit), if any, CS degree programs online.
But it's got Halo! Remember Halo? Well, it's back, in TV show form!

PC.
Yeah, no DRM there.
So you want Adds in the middle of your shows?

Bluray may technically be a consortium, but Sony gets the biggest cut. They own most of the patents.
doesn't need the internet to "check in" with the home office
Notice how quiet they were on that topic. That silence speaks volumes to me. And the first thing it says is "Buy a PS4."
Yeah, but you can check in on your fantasy football league while you watch the Halo TV series!
Always on, always listening.

Pics or it didn't happen.
Okay.

The answer is probably "0"
Article 29 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations prohibits the arrest or detention of a diplomat.
Pretty sure that doesn't cover spies using diplomatic cover.

Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence.
This spy seems to have all the marks of an made-up-Amateur or a set-up.
Yeah, except the U.S. has apparently admitted that this "amateur" was working for the U.S. embassy (though denied he was a spy).
This is going to cause earthquakes and locusts, people!!!!!! The end is nigh!!!!! Pray to Mother Earth for forgiveness!!!!!!

Stop saddling me with your damn phone interface and we'll see.
