There is a TV show in Australia that sent someone out in the US convincing Americans that various well known attractions (Great Wall of China, Eiffel Tower, Mount Rushmore, etc) were actually in Australia. The number of people who bought it all was quite amusing/scary.
Previously, they had walked around with an incorrectly labeled map showing South Korea as Tasmania, North Korea as Australia and so on - many of the Americans questioned about it barely blinked; "Wow, I never knew North Korea was so much bigger than South Korea!"
"In my experience, the emails that come directly from him are very short and to the point (a few words at most)."
I think that might be true of a lot of these big name corporates with very public images. Last time I emailed Mark Cuban, I got a brief but personal response within five minutes. It was appreciated despite the brevity.
Watched one episode a while back and found a few parts funny, but it was mostly the novelty and that it was Halo that interested me. Went back and downloaded an episode last week from Xbox Live and it was pretty lame to be honest.
The snow map was Assault on the Control Room. Also featured a shortcut where you could skip a fair bit of the level. Actually, two shortcuts since you could get an early Banshee with some well-positioned rockets.
There were some quality maps in Halo 2 as well, but it didn't come together as nicely for me. Reminds me, slightly, of how Quake 2 felt compared to the original.
Still, I played H2 through a couple of times and have had many nights spent on multiplayer with friends - absolute bargain when you consider how much game time I've had out of it.

Which was exactly the point originally being made - the guy knows what he's talking about when it comes to software development. The claim wasn't that he has a flawless history producing ground-breaking games...
"The local authorities of the Brasov county will by the world-famous Bran Castle for 60 million euro and will get the money by leasing with a 10-year loan from an Austrian bank. The move comes eight months after the rightful owner of the castle, now known as "Dracula's castle", Dominic Habsburg, got it back in a retrocession process."
They wouldn't be doing it this way if it didn't make them more money. For everyone person that never returns and tells a few friends of their poor experience, there would be five people who let their account drag on for a few more months until they get around to it.
MS suggested the reviewers either return the laptop or give it away to someone else to give the impression that any reviews were a little less influenced and this guy sooks? Gee. Just give the laptop to a charity who could make use of it or a free-software project or something.
I'm with you - the new Analytics interface is easy to read and enjoyable to use.

Typical ISP, lower pricepoint, priority access to enhanced online services, etc?
And what happens when Google rolls out services competing directly with ISPs?
"But seriously, why is a phone call cheaper than an SMS message?"
The question is, why do they charge so much for an SMS? Because they can. *shrug*

Is that what we're calling them now?
FWIW, I use a variety of different hosting companies. It wouldn't be that unusual.
"That is about the best source you could have short of an official press release."
I'd argue that, quite often, an internal leak would be a better source than a fluffy and biased press release!

Wish I had a mod point for you Kevin!

I looked at the thumbnails and thought "Wait, aren't those ALL the tech mascots"?

"Note the first: There may finally be a great reason to buy a PlayStation."
You'd hope so. In Australia, the PS3 is pitched at a cost that I paid for my first car!

"It is probably safe to say that the possible number of snow crystal shapes exceeds the estimated number of atoms in the known universe..."
This sort of thing does my head in. Anyone else trying to keep up?
I misread that as "President corpses are an important strategic resource for the Neocons now, too."

Looks like it's already sold:

I agree completely. A virtual character. Flying penises. Insane!

"Mad cow disease" is a prion disease.
Sounds like a wanker to me.

I agree. I am interesting in getting one of the 360 or PS3, but not at the current prices.
