Most of the major water systems in Oregon opted against flouridating their water. Good thing, too: It turns out while flouride helps your teeth when directly applied like in flouride treatments you get at the dentist or in toothpaste, it's carcinogenic when injested. I'll follow up if I can find the studies into this again (they were published in all the papers around the time the City of Beaverton, Oregon ran a measure to flouridate the water (it failed by a narrow margin and was the only thing on the news for about six weeks before ballots were due), but drinking flouridated water is a lot like smoking with your digestive tract in terms of increased risk of cancer, with nearly zero effect on dental hygeine.
Microsoft's software would be the one best associated with flouridated water: Almost everybody has it, nobody in their right mind would use it. If Lindows really wants to make such a dubious claim, they can go right ahead, but it's not one I would make for good PR.
My company (an outsource private security firm) gives each site a pad of forms everybody's gotta sign in and out on. From left to right, you write in your name, the day of the week, the date and the time you started your shift, your signature, and the date and time you end your shift, and the number of hours worked that shift.
But some of us don't own Windows, aren't inspired to pirate it, aren't willing to part with that much money for so little product, and don't want to lose their uptime. Honestly, why should I pay $600 to play a $30 game?
I believe it was Swordfish that had the line, "Have you ever tried typing with only one hand, Stanley? Pretty fucking hard typing with only one hand. If you want to keep both, you're going to do this."
Could someone tell me again why I bust my ass 10 hours a day, 4 days a week, while prisoners don't work (or do hospital laundry, tops) and get a playstation? Great message...if I commit a crime, I go to jail, sit around and play video games.
Meanwhile, I don't know a single state that doesn't have roads in need of work. I'm thinking we could help out the road crews a bit by assigning prison labor to the work the normal road crews dread because it's dangerous or exceedingly difficult. Prisoners can earn their fucking keep.
Slashdot and the furry fandom have one thing in common: Angsty trollers who say "I'm fed up with you all and I'm never coming back" but then start flinging shit like a monkey six months later all over again.
That's the only thing Windows is good for right? Games from companies who won't get their heads out of their asses and join us in the 21st century, right?
WTF? I thought HP sponsors Debian. Actually, I know they do (click on their sponsor link on the front page). So what's with this Mandrake stuff when there's Debian-based desktop-oriented distros like Knoppix and Xandros available?
I find it ironic that so many geeks can't get laid. While my schedule is what primarily prevents social interaction (I'm having lunch right now with another four hours to go on a 10 hour graveyard shift), this wasn't always the case. However, I wasn't particularly well adjusted in high school and I still managed to make it in the sack at 17.
Thermostats: They are *NOT* your friend

Do not play with thermostats except to set them back to 72 after someone else dicked with it. Wear shorts or a sweater if it's too hot or cold for you, don't make everyone else suffer because you're a temperature pussy. Some loser where I work keeps setting the thermostats to 85. When you walk into this area, your clothing instantly sticks to your skin and if you're wearing glasses, they fog.
At least I have the satisfaction of knowing as soon as we figure out who is doing that, they're fired.
Doesn't every major distro ship with KDE as the default now? Given that there's not really any reason for the world to standardize on one desktop environment, wouldn't it be reasonable to say that at least for the forseeable future, KDE is going to be the default WM/DE?
I'm sorry, but I have no faith that the average computer user can interpret even the most obvious mail reject notification.
You have a very good point. However, it is enough to weed out the easily mislead that do know how to read. There's no getting through to the selectively blind, so it's best to become selectively deaf. It works well. Most give up. The rest that wonder if you can hear them you can turn around and ask if they can read.
Also, don't munge.
I'd buy the game if there was Linux binaries. End of story.
Easy. I don't.

I hate it.

You mean this? And besides, I think my major malfunction is that I haven't had a decent vacation in three years.

Who said you were allowed to get through life without thinking?
You don't remember Knoppix or Xandros? And Debian's the first distro I *ever* installed when I switched totally away from Windows in 1997.
That's the only thing Windows is good for right? Games from companies who won't get their heads out of their asses and join us in the 21st century, right?
Unless you're trained, you're going to need a few more than 192 rounds. Go for 300, so you've got a little better than two chances to get them all.
WTF? I thought HP sponsors Debian. Actually, I know they do (click on their sponsor link on the front page). So what's with this Mandrake stuff when there's Debian-based desktop-oriented distros like Knoppix and Xandros available?
Duh, you don't use gmplayer in KDE, you use mplayer or kplayer instead.
You do not have the right to make it through life letting others do all the work for you. Deal with it.
You're just bitter because you're new. Go cruise through the archives back from 1997.

We've gone to red alert, people! Major threat to the entire population of Earth! Someone on Slashdot has predicted the immenent death of the net.
Heh, I wish I had the budget to do either.
This really reminds me of Skippy's List.
