  1. because all AI can do is manage the information it is given. Could it make a leap? Yes if the right information is present and the right questions are asked.
Today's AI is not really there yet, today it is just a big automated filter and matching machine there really is not any intelligence behind it ATM.

No one has figured out how to program a concept in to data. No one knows yet how to program thought, consciousness in to an algorithm. At least that I know of.

    Just my 2 cents ;)

the HR individual knows nothing about the skills they are hiring for. Thus looks for buzz words and a well crafted (questionable) resume.
The initial filtering should be done by an individual with the knowledge and skills they are hiring for. In 10 mins you know what the lay of the land is. But that is only done in small businesses and is not how the corporate or government world works.
As a self employed contract programmer I have not been asked for a resume in 15+ years. I do not advertise, use the web to get business, etc. I get my clients when 2 business people are chatting and one talks about an IT issue and the other says you might want to call this person.

Great AI could work! but it would need to be that in the know filter.

Apple will be the last to have problems, most in that world have to much money and just don't care about cost. It is more about status than needs. I agree the ability to visualize things is a critical skill. And interesting, imaginative child play pops in to my mind. As a child I had a very limited # of toys including American Bricks, Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs and an Erector Set, I know I am old ;) And most were just items I could use to create other pretend things with my imagination to play with for hours. Along with things I made in the garage on the farm when not doing chores.
I used to ride my bike to the dump to collect old electronics to take apart and collect parts/components to make other stuff.
Do some kids today have to many pre made toys/devices/game consoles/experiences to develop a good ability to visualize or develop a good imagination?
