This is as expected. Microsoft per their marketing plan will force as many as they can on to Windows 10. Up to this point I have resisted and still run Windows 7 Pro on my Windows workstations. Not sure I will ever go for Windows 10. Or just phase Windows workstations out and stick to my Linux and Mac workstations. I stopped doing Windows development work over 10 years ago anyway. And just keep 1 Windows 7 Pro workstation at my office and one in my home office now.

One thing I do know "I will never use a DaaS workstation for any of my development work or to run my business". Heck, I don't even use any cloud based apps for any real work.

As for the US Senate, with out 60 votes almost nothing passes in the Senate. To say the Republicans control all 3 branches of government means nothing. And is just political misdirection used for propaganda reasons since most Americans are ignorant about how the Senate works.
If the party in power does not control 60 votes in the Senate very little gets done in Washington.
The last time that happened President Obama was in office and the Democrats had 60 votes in the Senate and controlled the House. And they for the most part completely wasted the power and oppotunities they held for 18 Months (I think it was 18 months?)

Our political Masters would realize that only honest individuals and entities follow government laws and regulations. Thus all laws and regulations (understanding some are needed) always add to costs (both monetary and socially) and are an imposition on the honest who would not do any harm anyway

    Always consider universal truths!
    1. Government Passing or Creating laws or regulations in no way actually fixes any problems or issues.
    2. Government bureaucrats and politicians think they are exempt from all laws and regulations. Laws and regulations are just the clubs government uses to beat the peasants in to compliance, self enrichment and for their general enjoyment.
    3. Criminals do not care about laws and regulations in any way.
    4. Corporations just weight the risks of getting caught breaking laws and regulations vs potential short term profit/damages. And can they get out with their money before the hammer falls.

Thus, less government, smaller government, manageable government, transparent government, fiscally responsible government is always best for the citizens.

Ideological foes and white collar criminals sit in jail with bond revoked at the prosecutors whim. With the bait of turning in to a state witness and providing the goods (true or made up) to regain their freedom.

Our justice system due to the corrupt leadership at these entities is in danger. I see a time when citizens won't even be able to afford to convict a real criminal.

And at the moment, FBI Director Christopher Wray and his corrupt partners running the DOJ and NSA are the greatest cyber threat in America.
FBI Director Christopher Wray's statement that "strong encryption on mobile phones keeps law enforcement from gaining access to key evidence" is in my case falling on deaf ears. I do not see a problem here. Things are just as they should be.
