The Memory Stick is the ONLY storage that comes standard with the Sony Vaio C1 (the REALLY Small one). What implications do you speak of? The memory stick is IMHO a good technology.
Other than Sony Music being anti-napster (BTW, Sony Music is a Subsidiary company run by Tommy Mattola, very separate from these guys) Sony has done nothing bad that I can think of.
a.nj.us domain, what I DO mind is when you add even more letters than that..state.us is a good system. If you want to be state-neutral, then register a.com, etc.
because regardless of all that Bell was scottish. Just like Carnegie and half of all the other important people ever. Including the guys who paved your roads, invented your raincoat, and sent pictures over the radio. so THAT is why Scotland should be country code 1.
I would have made that same comment had he said +44 was the code for england, however, i was going to let that one slide because:
1) If you want to call Scotland, +44 IS what you dial
2) Alex G. Bell was a scotsman.
3) how rare it it that someone makes that mistake.
and finally. Scotland RULES!

Forbes Magazine distributed those to all of their subscribers. The ads in forbes will now all have barcodes, which when scanned by this will take input the URL of one of Forbes' e-commerce partners. They probably get a cut of the sale too.
i honestly think that package tools like RPM, Deb,.tgz, etc. are one of Linux's greatest assets. The closest thing to this on Windoze is a third party app, (norton uninstall) and that still isn't nearly as useful as anything on Linux.
But, of course, if linux had some sort of package standard, amongst all of the distro's tit could be a greater asset.
Maybe Slashdot should lobby congress, it seems that the editors of this site give their opinions often enough. I'd be happy to volunteer as slashdot/Andover's representative in Washington....
Even though you are in a Disney store when you purchase your brand new iMac, you aren't necesarily buying your imac from the disney store, you could be purchasing your iMac from Apple Computer a Subsidiary, but still a separate company from Disney Corp. The subsidiary is owned by Disney but is operated separately from the Disney Stores, and therefore does not ned to charcge sales tax because THAT business doesn't have locations in more than its home state.
Quest did this first. It was started by Philip Anshutz (sp?) who was a major shareholder in the Southern Pacific Railroad and later the Union Pacific (which merged). When he was starting Quest he used his influence to get permission for quest to use the railroad right-of-way to lay their fibre-optic network down.
yeah, just stick a satellite antenna on people's houses, and wire the system to their internal telephone wiring, and Kazam! instantly, you are a worldwide Local/long distance Telco.
if iridium doesn't get aquired, then they stated earlier that they are going to (after the 17th) start working on how to safely de-orbit their satellites. According to an article I read, too bad i don't remember where, or I would post a link there. Maybe C|net?
-Will it sync with Linux? -When/Where can i get the source? -looks a good deal bigger than my PalmVx. -seems more aimed at portable multimedia than PDA
If i bought one it would not replace my palm. It would however complement it nicely. Although Yopy can do PIM stuff, it would seem more useful as an MP3, portable video, radio, and internet device. BTW, i like how it will use a mobile phone to connect to the internet instead of requiring that you buy a new device and pay exorbitant prices for mobile internet.
no it was John Logie Baird.
they allready make an MP3 player that does just that Using the memory stick

Or shorten it even more and use a system similar to the UK:
.co.us - businesses
.ac.us - educatonal
.org.us - well duh
etc.

AOL/TimeWarner is hardly a conglomerate
Is it something you would use everyday though, or is it just a really good curiosity?
you know, it might actuallyh be cheaper if they just made clothes with more pockets...

It IS mozilla with an AOL skin and a special plugin that allows you to sign on to AOL
Based on Mozilla from the look of it, and it doesn't seem to work. Anyone actually using this?
I pulled that one with AT&T, they offered to drop my onthly bill down to $4.99 per/mo. before they gave up and said they couldn't do any better.

The notion of copyright was not invented by artists.
you're right, it was invented FOR artists...

Or I could be wrong...
when netscape isn't running, of course, even when it is it can still stay up longer than I can, I can't say that about any version of Windows.

All is true, EXCEPT!, Demon Internet is a SCOTTISH company. Blurs the lines a little at least.
