    It's still s decent game but if you're looking for an fps there's this little game called Quake 3 you might want to look into....

    Sometimes I just want a little Mech3 action though, ya know?

    A few ER-PPCs and a LRM-20 can make such a nice stress-reliever in multiplayer. :-)

    Although the BFG10K does have it's appeal...

    I'm just upset since Microsoft bought Mech3 right before it came out. I guess we'll NEVER see a M3 port. By far my favorite Giant Robot Crushing Things game.

    I haven't played this one yet. Buy or no Buy? How does it compare to M3?

    I swear, watching the park rangers (or whatever) threaten the people in the stands with umbrellas the night I was there, you realize that most people are either too stupid to read the signs (which are EVERYWHERE) or too selfish to care.

    Fond memories from my trip to Australia. ;-)

    Because it was the best one in the area?

    It's not like they were trying to take risks, but try and pick an area of, say, Kentucky that you could hit from Mars with a reasonable chance of your spacecraft landing in tact. They're hills & canyons & just about everything else all over the place.

    Science dictated the area, Logic dictated the best landing zone, Luck dictated the outcome.

    Stuff sometimes fails. This is important to remember during your next reboot for no good reason. :-)

    at the blatant maniuplation of the legal system by Etoys? They get through the lucrative Christmas season then go "Oops, this is stupid. Sorry!".

    10 on 1 says somebody does something similar. Oops, lucrative time! Use the courts to shut down anyone who might be mistaken for us!

    3117! Thanks for the link. I'll try and flash the BIOS tonight, but unless the power goes, the system will be up anyway, so I'm not too concerned.

    Bummer about the FCs! Oh well. Hopefully they'll aim another board at the same cheap SMP market segment. Unless they foobar BADLY, they've got a customer for life here!

    Kewl. I just may try it after I pick up some more beefy heatsinks (got the standard Intels at the moment).

    On another topic, do you have the BP6? If so, do you know if it will handle the coppermine chips discussed in this article? I meant to check the voltage range last night, but I fell asleep.

    Well, I do, for one. I only own 1 television and my Wife likes to watch... [shiver] cable.

    Personally, I'd rather kick back with a bottle of root beer (or real brew, depending) and watch some high-brow entertainment like Evil Dead 2 or Ranma 1/2.

    It also keeps me away from the evil History Channel, which seems to devour all my time.

    Personally, I make use of both. With the wondrous Abit BP6 motherboard, I've got SMP Celeron 366s OCed to 458 (I'm Chicken). Since I was able to buy the cheaper CPUs I could justify getting an SMP board, which does wonders for my performance under Linux.

    Also, as another poster pointed out, many games don't support SMP, so you're stuck with core speed as your way to go faster.

    It's certianly a risk, but to each their own, eh? I could probably push my system to 550, if I wanted to, but I'm happy with my price/perfomance curve at the moment.

    And personally, I LOVE this sucker. Nice and open, even with tons of stuff in it, and it can take about 5 extra fans. Oh, and the Mo-Bo tray slides out with all the expansion cards in place with 4 screws removed.

    the absolute worst Star Trek movie of all time has got to be ST V:Final Frontier, aka "The Quest for God".

    I think it has to be a tie between 5 & Insurrection.

    Personally, I just rolled at the scene in Insurrection where the people are jumping off the bridge and screaming when the phaser blasts are about 20 yards behind them...

    Even # = Good (Except for #2)
    Odd # = Bad
    All the NG movies so far = Suck.

    IIRC, there was an announcement a while ago that Linux was already running on the IA-64 engineering prototypes. Some companies (VA-Linux and others, IIRC), had gotten in with the whole NDA thing and done the work.

    Soon we'll have another 64 bit platform! For ultra-stud-muffins only. :-)

    I didn't mean to imply that they were the only ones that are important, but they are the most popular.

    PERSONALLY, I would only use either a nVidia, Matrox (oversight in my original post) or 3dfx card for gaming, but that's just me. In terms of performance, they seem to have won the game, as far as I can see.

    In a perfect world all cards would be supported, but if you've got to pick and choose, pick the most popular, best and most recent cards.

    I have to agree! All the major news this year seems to have been about nVidia (personal preference) or 3dfx. I wouldn't consider running anything else for gaming...

    I guess they figure that everybody with a "Normal" card will be using XF86 instead...

    Bummer.

    Would you go with a hosting service who got the most press when they went down? Regardless of if it was their fault or not. I probably wouldn't.

    Doesn't it seem like we're all a little quick to believe this. Lucas has said he doesn't like DVD really... what, did we think that the DVD Encryption hack would make him like it MORE?

    Only after VHS is right and truly dead will he convert, although god knows why. I can't figure out why he doesn't want to make more money.
