    Because the current degenerate incarnation of the Republican party is NOT the party of Eisenhower. Nixon's racist Southern Strategy and Reagan's courting of religious extremists have driven out anyone who believes in individual rights and has an IQ over room temperature. They now make insane claims like that their religious liberty has been taken away if they can't oppress gays. They don't even know what freedom is.

    We desperately need sane opposition to the Democrats, and the Republicans just don't qualify anymore.

    Correct. It was bizarre that Snowden ran to countries that are much worse on civil rights, but just want to make the U.S. look bad. The "America, Fuck No!" crowd is just as bad as the "America, Fuck Yeah!" crowd that told us we were traitors for opposing the Iraq war.

    Unfortunately we don't know if it was legal snooping with a warrant, or illegal without. We do know that Ladar's rights have been seriously infringed in not being allowed to talk about the situation, so people are very right to be outraged.

    Can it handle N64 emulation without stuttering? I currently have a Gameclip to play emulated games on my gen 1 Nexus 7 and my Galaxy Note, and have had to stick with early arcade and 2600 games because the N64 games all stutter very badly on both.

    I was looking through Android password vault apps yesterday after SplashID ate all my password data, just like it did to every other user who accepted their "update," and at least one of them promised to fill fields for you. I imagine there are desktop and iPhone apps that do the same.

    If you can't handle 3D for any reason other than the dimmed visuals at the theater, obviously a 3D display like the rift is going to be the same problem for you. People vary in how they process depth information, and stereoscopic displays can only fake some of us out. Fortunately I have no problem with 3D or HMDs.

    It's going to be interesting to see what % of the population can't use this device because of the way their brain's are wired for visual perception.

    This clearly won't be suitable for some significant number of interested people, so they should expect a lot of returns when they release the consumer version.

    Single-payer would be a lot better, but with the current state of the Republican party, we can't have nice things. You sound like you're part of the problem, with your total misunderstanding of how poor people currently get health care, total lack of understanding of how elections work, and revolting view of poor people as "the dregs of society."

    I wasn't trying to score a hit on anyone, and didn't single out one drug other than alluding to the fact that cannabis is less harmful than alcohol. I actually agree with some of your post, other than where you went off the deep end and claimed that Obama would like to kill all the detainees.

    What states allow concealed-carry, but don't have conservative christians imposing, or trying to impose their superstitions on kids at school? Illinois is a possibility as long as you avoid southern Illinois, but I'd wait a couple of years to see of the new concealed carry laws hold up.

    Begins? When it comes to drug prohibition, we've been able to honestly say that for decades. That's part of the reason I find the Republicans so disingenuous. It's insane (or an outright lie) to claim that our freedoms have been recently taken with Obama in office, when they were taken by Nixon and perpetuated by every president since. Not only does our authoritarian government lock up people for using a less-harmful alternative to alcohol, they've used their power to push prohibition world-wide.

    I found f.lux very helpful. I'm in my computer-driven home theater right up until bed-time, and had a lot of trouble getting to sleep until I installed f.lux.
