>The only difference today is that more people carry cameras.
Which is a huge difference, and the reason brutal cops are finally starting to be prosecuted. So many Americans are clueless authoritarians that will go along with any claims from those in power, so it takes incontrovertible evidence to hold them accountable for their crimes against the American people.
You're obviously totally lost. Maybe you'd be more comfortable at a wingnut propaganda site that will reinforce your right-wing delusions. Free Republic, Zombie Breitbart, and Fox News are good possibilities for people like you who don't want to be troubled by reality.
It's not holographic, and it's not VR, it's AR. The latest reviews have been terrible, saying MS reduced the field of view of the AR display to a little box in the middle of your vision. There's still hope they'll fix it based on this feedback, but as-is Hololens is DOA.
Because we can't pander to stupid people who have internalized Republican nonsense. Should we back down every time someone has a stupid belief just because Republicans cherish stupid beliefs?
No, it's the insane conservatives who are so easily duped by absurd Republican propaganda. Republicans at the local level aren't any less insane than the ones in the federal government.
Correct. Most of these "skeptics" are right-wing cranks fed their beliefs from wingnut blogs, hate radio, and Fox News. They're not only not scientists, they don't believe in any science that runs counter to right-wing dogma. At some point the Republicans put out so much disinformation that the party became a cult, totally disconnected from reality.
Of course the huge difference is that progressives are concerned about real problems, and the ignorant conservatives are concerned about imaginary enemies and preserving superstition. There's really no comparison with the conservatives completely off the rails from hate-radio, wingnut blogs, and Fox News.
One nice phone is a lot more useful to one person than 3 crappy ones. The experience of using an S6 is much better than a $200 phone. The cheap phone will be annoyingly slow. Maybe you're OK with a crappy phone, but many of us want something less frustrating.
These will look much better than current displays when in a head mounted display. Even a Samsung S6 has very visible pixels when used for VR. A 4K display would look a lot better. Phone-based VR is surprisingly good, even without Gear VR. With Gear VR it's even better.
That depends on if you have to give the devices Internet access, because someone can potentially take over your whole network via a non-secure IOT device. This stuff needs to stay inside your firewall with no outside connection until manufacturers take security seriously. I don't care if someone messes with my light bulbs, I do care if they wipe my servers via an IOT exploit.
Yep. It's sad to see how Slashdot has turned into a reactionary RWNJ site every bit as bad as zombie-Breitbart. I hope it doesn't indicate regression of our whole culture. I'd hate to wind up with brain-dead Conservatives like Ted Cruz in charge.
This seems obvious. If it's possible for the robot to have sensors that can see in the smoke, giving the fire-fighter the sensor instead of adding the extra complexity of a guide-robot is an obviously better solution.
We don't really need to get into genders to illustrate the problem. If the pilot is a less capable fighter than the crew member that's sitting in, an insane crew member can take down the plane. If the pilot is the better fighter, they can overpower the flight crew member. There's no way to make this perfectly safe, but the current door system is pretty good.
All they need to do is issue different codes to each member of the flight crew, and allow an override of the lock toggle if a certain number of flight-crew codes are entered into the access pad.
Why would they replace the computers? You just restore from backup, or worst-case reinstall the OS from scratch, block Flash so they don't get reinfected, and you're done.
>You can insult me all you want about my attention span
Why bother? You've probably already forgotten this conversation.
And here's where the authoritarians reveal themselves to be worthless racists that need to be marginalized.

Right wing authoritarians think anyone who questions authority is a tricksy leftist. They're morons.

>I've really been looking forward to this, but the road to release has been so lengthy that I've stopped caring to an extent.
That's your short attention span. Rushing out a product before it was ready would have been a huge mistake.
If you're not trolling, you've internalized Republican lies. Is it possible that you didn't notice that the House GOP is batshit insane?

I know someone with one, so that's three for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if they've sold tens of phones.
That does seem to be the problem. You could get a Fire Stick or an Apple or Playstation TV for less.

Progressives want you to smarten up. You want to do them physical harm. That's the difference between civilized people and people like you.

For me the recommendations are about 50/50, which is still much better than going through their whole catalog to find things I like.

There doesn't appear to be space for a 3rd person in many cockpits.

Even if we had software fly our planes, a hacker could bring them down. Total safety from crazy people isn't possible.
The technology is pretty well thought out, but clearly can't currently defend against an insane pilot.
This YT video describes the system.

Yep, even with a whole school full of computers you couldn't compete with dedicated mining devices.
