Your opponents will likely make mistakes that you can profit from. True, the house takes a portion of the money from each pot, but a skilled player can usually overcome the rake for a decent winrate. If all players are equally skilled, they will all lose money.
The screenshot in the picture is of the fraudulent website. The developer who wrote the article owns MailListKing (a mailing list management program). He is not associated with the other programs. Please try to pay at least a modicum of attention before complaining.
Even if you don't agree with the aims of the software he sells, you should agree that others shouldn't steal and resell his software.
I'm a UTD student who lives in the apartments that banned the APs. Even though they're not enforcing the ban yet, I've seen a noticable decrease in the WLANs around me. Scanning used to bring up 5 or 6 non-university SSIDs; now I only see about one.
I'm still having problems with the wireless connection dropping out at random times, sometimes as much as every 10 minutes. The connection only seems to have gotten especially bad since they switched over to PEAP 802.1x authentication (which is a Good Thing, I admit).
Some online communities base reputation at least partly upon user numbers.
For example, the mere presence of words uttered by he who has a low user number shines forth radiantly upon all, bestowing in them great wisdom and happiness.
(Note: the higher user numbers are that much more removed from the Form of Wisdom and Happiness).
There's a song called "Max 300" - its speed is 300 beats a minute. There are a few runs with a measure or two of straight 8th notes (twice as fast as normal quarter notes).. That means for these runs you have to step on different arrows are the rate of 600 times a minute.. or 10 times a second.
Can the universe be a computing machine? Can you split it up into sections of input, computation, and output? Does it store and retrieve data? I think a more in depth analysis of this topic would be more interesting.
Why can't you articulate it? It's the same with music -- you don't need to know squat about "music theory" to know you dislike something and why.

If you change all the C's to C#s, and all the E's to Eb's, you get this tune:

Now, I cannot articulate why, but this sounds horrendous. Likewise, any UI I have tried on Linux simply does not feel as polished and as smooth to me as BeOS, MacOS, or Windows. I believe that it has to do with a lack of one of the basic elements of graphic design: Unity.
So what about it don't you like? The colors are wrong? Change them. The button shapes and/or placement is weird to you? Change it! Don't think it's fast enough? Turn off special features, animations, and transition effects. If you don't like what happens when you left-click a window border, change it!
The point is, I shouldn't have to be making these choices. A professional graphic designer should be.
Frank Lloyd Wright said "form follows function". So he, generally regarded as an expert in design, would agree with you when you say "Functionality should come before the looks."
However, this does not mean that graphic design is irrelevant. It is very satisfying to look at good design. Making conscious choices with regards to design can be very challenging and is as much as a task / artform as programming itself. This is why an entire design industry exists.
This is terribly off topic, but the lack of what I consider good design is one of the things that turned me off of linux after using it ~2 years. Then again, on the converse side of the monetary unit, BeOS has what I consider good design, but not all the functionality in a web browser that I desire..

Yeah, after God Emperor, things kind of went downhill... I mean, the superhumans didn't bother me so much. (Super-speed Teg was pretty bad-ass.) But all the Duncan Idaho gholas were a bit much. He was a pretty clueless character to begin with, and having him reborn millions of times was just overkill.
I really wish more had been done with exactly what happened to Leto II. Could he be woken from his "endless dream"? Chapterhouse ended right when I think things were getting interesting again. Like those weird independent face-dancers... what was up with THAT!?!
With 63% of the USA reporting, Nader only has 2.4% of the vote. Looks like he's going to miss out on the 5% popular vote needed for the Green party to get federal funds next election.
However, consider Bush wins because Nader split the democratic vote in a key state or so. This might lead to an interesting turn of events. Considering that recently the democrats won a presidental election because Perot split the republican vote, and if Bush wins this election because Nader split the democratic vote.. perhaps we will see a bi-partisan support of voting system reform?
Like any of the slashdotters would use this machine for real work, anyway. They just want it so they could brag that they have more computing power.. that they don't actually use. Kinda like the guys who brag their car can go 200 mph when the speed limit only goes up to about 60 or 70.
