    It's called tax incidence. Basic Econ 101 stuff. The amount of a tax born by the buy and seller is determined by the relative elasticity of supply and demand, ie how easy is it for them to produce compared to how bad do you want it.

    Both GTK/GNOME and Qt/KDE are laughibly clunky compared to Windows. Dialog boxes, widget sets, choosers etc are still in the Win 3.x world.

    Please show me the proof that there exists no tariff such that Y with tarrif is less than Y without tarriff.

    How about you read up on the asian miracle of the 80's and 90's. Many countries such as Korea did very well because of tariffs. Often infant industries cannot be competitive on a world market, but could once a critical mass is reached.

    Your argument is so sad it would get you laughed right out of any serious international trade class.

    I bought one having owned a 28 and 48SX. It's very cheaply constructed. It when it does garbage collection the screen starts flashing. The keyboard is so bad the 10% of keypresses don't register.

    If you've got a 48G(X) don't bother.
