Main problem with red light cameras is that they don't take a pic of your face, only your license plate. Even if you were not driving the car, well too bad, you were _probably_ driving the car and therefore you are guilty.

No I'm going through a NJ EasyPass toll both, and the sensor registers me going 110Mph. Unless you somehow get a toll both worker that remembers my car, license plate, and my face, you just have to rely on the sensor. Did it malfuntion? Well, it probably didn't malfunction, so I'm probably guilty.

This is the point- without actually human interaction at the time of the crime, you DON'T know who did it (this is for car stuff where they don't get your face, not where robbing the 7-11 and getting your mug on camera with you holding the gun).

As the guy said, with the traffic stuff, you're screwed.

A great idea, and one I would love to back. One big problem- re-elections. 1/3 of Senators every 2 years, all Congress-dudes and Pres every 4 years. Unless you somehow get a party majority in all 3 for multiple terms, there is no way that any agenda past say, maybe 8 years, will ever last. Especially if you get another Pres like Clinton, who passed many stupid executive orders that threw back progess in many areas by about 20 years or so.

The only way true long term goals can be sought and hopefully achieved is through private citizens and businesses. See the book "Firestar" by Michael(?) Flynn for an example. Politicos are only interested in getting elected again so they can increase their power that bit more.

Robert A. Heinlein's political system in the book "Starship Troopers" is looking better every day...

How about resticting any story about raising children to people who actually are/have raising children.

I have seen many "They should do that" posts from people that are 13-17 years old. The whole idea is to try and gleam knowledge from your elders. [And here is the eternal problem- young people ALWAYS know better than every elder; regardless if the elder went through the exact same thing]

I know that both the eld and young both will ignore me, but I post this in the hope that maybe one, just one, person will actually think about the morality of the stories they convey to their children. Maybe stories of lore, where honor actually meant something? (For the young here, the word "honor" meant that what you said is what you would do, no matter what. If you said you would heal your mortal enemy, you would, and then send him home to his family.) Because "honor" is now second place to "winning".

    And our world shudders.

I do have one question, though- how many laws are you still breaking today?

For the record, I broke a few, and I did that for really sad reasons, I wrought myself from that lifestyle.
