Well, the financing costs were built into the price of the however, however, I will agree that you can get some sweet deals (relative to buying it when it's a current year model) if you wait for when they are trying to get rid of the year-old models.
But hey, lets think of extreme political ideology instead of actually doing things to help people.
Why should I pay for someone else to have healthcare when I'm struggling to make ends meet and cannot afford decent health care myself? Obamacare is hurting my business (excise tax), but that's okay as long as someone else is better off than me?
I would never, in my wildest dreams, get on that boat.
Really? I would love to go for a ride if I could afford it (which I cannot). Sounds like it could be fun and interesting, and might meet some other history buffs too.
They raise the price of doing business, which increases costs for consumers and forces businesses to move offshore. They're corrupt and only look out for the interests of the union heads and not the workers. In most places you can't opt out of union membership and are automatically deducted dues. Unions in the public sector extort taxpayers by threatening to withhold vital services...
I would have downgraded to XP rather than use Linux (which my favorite torrent website does not support for some reason) (or amazon's kindle). Of course XP isn't free like Linux.:-(
You going to run XP forever?
Eventually you'll have to choose one: 1. Embrace the new direction of Windows 2. Switch to something else, or 3. Use a moldy OS that lacks updates
If you mean "the various Google editors for documents, spreadsheets, drawings, and presentation that were and still are called 'Google Docs'", you don't have to use those with Drive either, though they are available (and the SDK allows third-party web apps to supplement them for creating or editing files online, and even to replace them as the default editors for various file types.)
I thought that's what Google Docs is. Regardless, how do I use it outside of the above definition? Linky? drive.google.com isn't terribly helpful, unless I'm missing something.
Er... maybe when your in Google Docs you can.. uh only work with Google Docs?... After you enabled it in your Apps admin account, did you go back to drive.google.com or just to docs.google.com?
I went to both, but drive.google.com was just the useless advertisement for it. docs.google.com was the only place that I could see where you could access it. (??)
I just went to drive.google.com again while logged in as my apps account, and it just has the ad... "Home" and "Features" are my only options.
It doesn't matter, I don't need to get it working. I was just curious to check it out.
Apparently it's not available to my non-Apps account, which is fine. I just wanted to check it out.
In fact, if I'm logged in and navigate to docs.google.com, I actually get the Drive web UI (which is virtually identical to what the Docs UI was before Drive was introduced.)... How is it "much less useful than its competitors"?
I don't have to use Google Docs with Dropbox. I can just drag and drop files to the share in Finder. I don't want to use Google Docs!
Actually that's all pretty much wrong.. it supports a lot more then Google Docs formated files - in fact even shows thumbnails apparently of a lot of standard file types when browsing. Integration seems to be it's sweet spot.
I go to drive.google.com with my regular, non-Apps gmail login, and it says something like: "Google Docs is currently not available."...and there's a "Notify Me" button for when it's available. (I am in the U.S.)
Don't need an Apps account - works fine on regular users
I go to drive.google.com with my Apps account, and it says: "Google Drive is not yet enabled for the My Company Name domain."
So I go to my Apps admin account and enable it in the "Drive and Docs" admin area, which AFAICT, is the only place in the admin menus where it's referenced. I go to the Drive section and make sure both check boxes are checked.
I go to Google Docs, and whoopedy-doooo, I can save Docs files online (which I thought I could do before)! Fun!
You mean like the ones used by Dropbox, SugarSync, and Box?
Yeah, except it sucks. It appears to only work with Google Docs, and you have to have a Google Apps account AFAICT. I tried signing up with my regular gmail account and it wouldn't let me. It works under my Apps account, but I don't use Docs, so it's not terribly useful for me... Plus, I thought you could store your Docs files online before? I know I've had folks share spreadsheets with me in the past, which were obviously stored somewhere at Google. I don't see how it's different, except being much less useful than its competitors.
Wow, one company. I guess they'll have to avoid anything under the GPL or BSD.
Oh, wait...

This privilege is valuable to working class families that have a lot of kids but not a lot of savings
Right, it's just another form of credit. Buy now, pay later...
He was hilarious on Kids in the Hall.
I'm hoping I have a good reason to call someone a "fuckbucket" today (which I most certainly will). I like it.

That doesn't sound very fair.
More like the pot calling the kettle black...
Millions of people.
What is worth exploiting? Anything that you can turn into a node in your massive botnet.
Well, I guess the fun's over.
Hah hah, surely you jest. Yarrr!
That would be pretty funny. Ima try it.
I think it's neat that we can sue someone over the way they (ab)use a language.
Even iTunes is better than using a Blackberry.
Wow, now that is saying something. *cringe*

If you read the thread, it was Austrian authorities that took the image at the request of U.S. authorities.
Your objections are based on inaccurate assumptions.
Well, they were based on trying it. :)

I had no problem logging in with my non-apps account.

FAIL
Amateur politicians still think they can make a difference, and might even try.
They are only used after a crash.
Yeah, I really trust the government with being honest about my privacy.
Also, warrants are easy to get.
It is a big deal, because it's NONE OF THEIR FUCKING BUSINESS.
And how hard is it to get a warrant?
