My fave Engrish that I have actually seen is a t-shirt some girl was wearing that said "Burst cheerfully!". It cracked me up at the time so she probably thought I was mad.
"I didn't manage to make it out to a movie theater to see what they played (I had wanted to, but the language barrier was a little high. I knew "movie" is "eiga" but didn't know the kanji for it, or how to ask for a movie theater...)"
I went to see a film in Japan and my Japanese is very poor indeed. It was still fun. You don't have to ask where a cinema is, you just wander round until you find one, then you go "cool!" and go and see something random. I saw "The Returner" which is live-action, not anime.
If you only know a few words of Japanese you can make up your own plot.
May I be the first to point out the similarity to the old ZX-Printer (for ZX81 and ZX-Spectrum) ?
We always thought it looked like a toilet roll dispenser. It had special silvery paper; the printer burned off the appropriate parts to reveal the black underneath. It was way cool- in its day. I still have one and half a roll of paper.
There is an example programming exercise somewhere on Microsoft's site that replaces the standard ALT-TAB interface in XP with one that contains a bitmap of the running program. It is meant to show off some new WIN32 API call to get the contents of a window as a bitmap, but is quite useable. I've had it installed for years.
Now it seems that the government can lock you up for looking like you might have a bit of a temperature:
"apprehension, detention or conditional release of individuals to prevent the introduction, transmission or spread of suspected communicable diseases."
This is in connection with SARS, which has been added to the list of diseases. It is good that they can force quarantine on people who have deadly diseases, but think about the potential for abuse, especially with regard to ethnicity- claiming that anyone who looks vagually oriental must have recently been to Hong Kong or Singapore and therefore MAY have SARS.
" I really don't see the problem. He gave a huge amount of money to a terrorist organization."
The American Government gave millions of dollars to the Taliban in May 2001, this guy just gave money to a charity which LATER was ACCUSED of having ties to terrorism.
I mean let's say one day someone accuses MENSA of having ties to some neo-nazi group who are thinking of murdering anyone with an IQ less than 100. Do you then round up everyone who ever gave money to MENSA and detain them without charges?
The American Government is dangerous, immoral and hypocritical.

Yeah, you only get them on the later levels. It's the same mdl as the standard troop but has a funky new skin and is holding a new weapon mdl.
Imagine chatting to some girl on the mobile to set up at date and you have to ask her to talk dirty because you need to fill up your phone as it's getting low. Now you'll never know whether people who appear to be masturbating in public are masturbating in public or.. erm.. masturbating in public to fill up their phone!
On long-haul flights you will see tired passengers simultaneously wiggling their feet to ward off DVT and wanking into their laptops. There will probably be a flight-attendant sent round to each passenger with a laptop to "inspire" them.
Sperm banks will never suffer from black-outs! Look at all that fuel! Oh, this sperm is from an IQ 500 nobel-prize winner, look how it powers my desklamp!
And many, many more.

I hated Interbase. It was god-awful. Anyway, you don't get that "open source zealot" recognition with Firebird. There's probably fewer people working on Firebird, less written about it, and its name doesn't inspire people to switch their company to it.
" Which government are you talking about? Last time I checked "polls" from any major newsite, support for a war against Iraq is averaging about 60-70% right now in the U.S."

"All this stuff is imaginary and it is just taking you away from reality of the real world."
When the real world is full of governments who are happy to go to war despite the people who voted them in not wanting them to, insane countries with nukes that no-one seems to want to go to war against, mysterious diseases sweeping across the world like they could turn into a millions-killing pandemic and people who think clear cases "look really cool" how can you blame people for wanting to escape it by watching shows like Farscape ?
" In England (and the rest of the UK) you have to pay a tax of about $15 a month for each colo(u)r TV "
The tax is not per TV but per household, and old people get one free, so what we do here is grab random old people off the street who are going a bit senile and tell them that they live with us, then take them home- free TV watching!
By the way, on a more serious note, the TV licencing people supposedly understand that people may use their TVs for playing console games on, watching DVDs etc, and you only have to pay if you "receive" TV programs on the set, though of course it is still grossly unfair that you have to pay to help the BBC make programs when all you want to do is watch satellite channels. It is a monopoly and it should be destroyed.
Think about it: The law says that if you receive TV signals in any way, whether by sat, cable or RF , you have to pay a private company who collects the money on behalf of the BBC, whether you watch the BBC or not. It's fucking evil!
