I agree regarding the zoom affecting overall "fun-ness". It's ironic that the most highly touted feature had this impact. In retrospect I would opt for a mini-map that had a more functional level of abstraction. Make it more useful then just unit type and location.
I was also impressed they utilized a second monitot for the mini-map. Great feature. Everygame should utilisze multiple monitors if there is a practicle reason for it.
OMG Space Siege was horrid, and I was so looking forward to it after the acclaimed Dungeon Siege. As a developer, they really need to take better care of their IP because all of it reflects on them as a brand.
Maybe the choice to move to S-E as a publisher is a reflection on this? S-E seems more likely to give GPG the space and time they need to release a quality product.
I'm not sure where the memory req's were mentioned either, but I am certain SC2 will at least prefer 4GB. SC was one of the first games to hit the 2GB memory limit on 32bit systems. Apparently SC would crash on very large maps when it hit the limit, even on 64 bit systes (bc the game is 32bit and still limited to 2GB mem).
And even in the Sims, it's up to the player to not be violent. You can still be "evil" by not allowing your sim a job and girlfriend, and he'll walk around completely depressed. Although this is much different then most games in which violence is built into the gameplay.
One of the first things a buddy of mine showed me in the Sims was pretty cruel. He told his sim to go to the bathroom, and then walled off the room while he was in it. We accelerated the time and he starved from lack of food and water. All that was left was a pile of bones in front of the toilet.
Agreed. Is there any verdict on if the steam version has the securom then?
Btw, the game is probably worth your time, once they get the bugs sorted.
It's been freezing on me a lot, with the save game corruption and everything. In addition, they could have tried just a little to optimize it for the PC. The text size does not need to be set to 24 pt on a PC monitor. You typically have to first click the button to scroll, then click the last speech option, even though there is plently of space to display it all at once. Really annoying.
Same with the Pip-Boy. They only let you use the tab key to bring up your hud. Then from there you have to click the "Data" or "Status" screens. I'd much rather have a key mapped for the map, items, and data directly, and save me the time from clicking each once I get into the hud view after pressing "tab".
Do yourself a favor, and wait just a month after the mod tools get released. The community will patch all these issues, just like they did Oblivion, sadly.
So to conclude I don't know if you should buy it actually.
Actually WoW handles widescreen improperly by actually chopping off the top and bottom of the screen to deliver the aspect ratio of your monitor. So hopefully Blizzard fixes this for all the widescreen players out there.
I'd like to see each character with a different instrument, so as to work better in multiplayer. The better the classes complement each other the better they play in concert, ie percussion, brass, strings.
Maybe different levels would introduce different musical themes/styles.
Oh get off it. What kind of huckster do you think you are trying to get those games for $35? Buy the titles ala carte if you don't want the extra stuff. The prices are fair, bundled or otherwise.
Microsoft knows all too well the benefits of widespread illegitimate use of their products, so maybe it's marketing magic reverse-psychology.
Well if you find the ad funny, then who is using who?

I'm not sure where exactly to take your point but it is well made.
This has been fixed since Leopard. It was a major pain in the ass though.
Anyone who enjoyed Baroque Cycle would appreciate Anathem. No question.
So, only awards that are granted by non-people matter?
-1 Redundant? Parent is under rated. Poster makes a legitimate point.
Remember that water usage comes in the form of clean-up not just cattle consumption.

You should write them a snail-mail, bro, if you're serious about it.

Here is an article citing Chris Taylor that even 4GB is not enough for all the factions they wanted to add to SC2: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=185765
And here is a link citing the original problem: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1161686
lmao that would be awesome.

Agreed. But some people enjoy the spectatorship much akin to sports.
Actually, I would have modded this +1 insightful.
I wasn't sure what they were talking about so looked it up. Apparently the combination makes it a "machine gun".

If that's their procedure they should make it clear up front. It's not good service to make a promise and then shirk on it when it's convienent.
It's the lack of service and anti-consumer practices that drive me away from places like Gamestop.
Steam is the obivious alternative here, but is it true Fallout 3 didn't preload before release?

Yeah I really like this idea.

Great idea, mate.
Yeah that's my #1 gripe about Steam.
Just click the "pre-release" catagory in Steam, the titles are listed there.
TF2 - $30
EP2 - $30
Portal - $20
That pop cap game is a special edition valve version though. OG is probably $5 - $10.
You can buy TF2 seperate. It's $30.

Exactly what do you think a software license is?
