Is it too unthinkable that they would start bundling games that can favourable compete with games developped by gaming companies, and then start claiming that games are an integraal part of the "Windows eXPerience" [tm] and thus unbundable form the Windows product?
And what about if they embed a game engine to power the eyecandy of their OS GUI?
Nobody in the IT industry is safe, not because MS is innovative, it would be just fair that they become rich for innovation, but because they use their monopolistic position without any shame to squash competition in new computing fields.

Since I don't assume the above, which in my book is completely ridiculous to even entertain, then, if I am responsible, and have been told 700 times before that it is really fucking hot, then I would do something about it.

Nobody with a modicum of common sense should expect to spend weeks in hospital for spilling a hot beverage. That is utterly and completely unreasonable.

If people would have been told "This coffee can cause 3rd degree burns, drink at your own risk" then yes, you would be right, do not spill the dman thing, you know it is going to hurt.
But any person buying something to drink should have the expectiation tha the product, no matter how carlessly is handled, will not land you in the hospital requiring skin grafts and complex surgery.
Mexico did support Cuba for 40 years, from the start of the Cuban Revolution, specially during the most difficult periods during which the only country in the American Continent that had diplomatic relations with Cuba was Mexico (to the historical shame of the rest of the Latinamerican countries, which can be partially excused by the fact that most of them had right wing dictatorships, many of them supported or imposed from the US).
Given the obvious preasure that the US could inflict in Mexico during all those years, I think that overdue gestures of friendship to Cuba from other countris is nothing to boast about.
Hopefully real friendship will help Cuba to get out of the dictatorial system they have today towards a genuinely democratic one, and hopefully never again will Latinamerican countries will abandon a brother country just to please thge superpower that has shown very little regard for our aspirations, specialy during time we have been divided.

-The generation that grew up with videogames and related subcultures have been itching for get formal recognition for their endeavours. THis is just part of the trend. Games to be equaled to an art form is next.
-People needed distraction. No wonder fantasy films have bee doing so well the last three years. I need not to say the reasons for this, it is normal that people look for escapism during certain periods that appear to be difficult.
-Marketing, but that is a well explored issue. Market properly a regular movie and it will be great, do not market an excellent movie and it will take 20 years to be recognized as a masterpiece.
In 5 or 6 years we will look back in amusement about how it is possible this movie was so much praised will genuinely good movies escaped the radars of people that were suppossed to know better (not really, Hollywood does not know better when it comes to cinematography, othersiwe would not be desperately making remakes of foreign movies and hiring all the non US talent they can).
In one past life of mine I worked for a scientist of international fame in the area of seismology (he helped to design a system to give advanced warning of earthquakes in a geographical zone where this can actually be achieved).
Anyway, he was jealous of his colleagues all whom have been connected to the internal network (all of them had Sun 3 workstations or Macs, all of them easily networkable) and demanded to be connected as well.
The probleem was that his pee cee did not have a network card. I dutifully proceeded to enable PPP through his serial port to allow email and a half decent acces to UNIX terminal.
He complained bitterly about the speed, and in spite of my explanations this figure of international name could not understand why a cable should be slower than the other:-)
