Where would Beethoven, Mozart, Bach and all those old sods be without the recording industry?
And where would traditional and folk music of all times and nationalities be without the recording industry?
Yes man, tell me where should we raise the monument to those cultural heroes, I for once am ready to go and provide free slave labour to help build their monumental thank you memorial.
... why they don't use their brains and use a cheaper, equaly safer, more enviromentaily sustainable mode of transport?
Inquiring, really thinking minds, want to know.
The espectacle of a US highway full of these monstruosities transporting mainly only one person is obscene. Not aesthetically mind you, which is most probably the only reason why those vehicles are bought, but moraly, economically and environmentaly obscene.
The main purpose of having an army is not as a beneficency agency. Its main purpose is to strike the fear out of the perceived enemy and to kill them if ordered to do so.
If all the army is ordered to go and dress like Santa Claus while giving gifts to poor children that is all well and good, but that does not diminish in one iota the main purpose of any armed forces.
All around the world there are people that have experienced this first hand, one way or another, just because they use your services in a benign way does not mean that you are not part of a killing machinery.
You may be producing bunches of innovators (debatable, because many students to the elite US Universities come from abroad), managers, CEOS but you may not be producing enough good technicians.
The poster to whom you replied is saying basically that Windows OSes are crap for enterprise services (which is mostly correct), you are saying that Windows is fine for desktop users(which is a matter of taste, but to each his own poison). You are agreeing with him!
What is the fscking point!
Oh yes, and: Unix user since 1989 (AIX,SunOS,Solaris,Irix). Linux user since 1993 (productionized it as desktop since 1995). Windows user sometimes briefly. Forced.
They should not create mini googles that annoy the hell out of users (in Germany I got the German version of Google but I am used to the normal one. Pain in the a**).
Where are the usability tests that back up your assertion? Or are you assuming the world revolves only around you and everybody else acts exactly like you?
For all what we know you may be dislexic and have an easier time with a keyboard.
Write a song, put it in the public domain, upload it, and there you go.
Copyright infrigement and theft are two different things, otherwise it would not be legislated like that in most civilized countries.
Please mod down the parent.
Democracy and Republic are two things that can or can't be found in the same country.
Mexico has always been a Republic, but was not always a democracy.
The UK is not a Republic but is a democracy.
The US is both, burro.
Unless you have a very contrived defintion of either concept, in which case the PR of China is both or none if you so wish.

When you copy something without permission you are not stealing, your infringing into somebody else's copyright.
There is a difference, if you are going to give an opinion then use the correct terms.
So what about if I have a lab with 3 or 4 computers and I need to move WinXP around?
Or what about if I buy a no-name PC and install WinXP there after removing it from my other PC?
My point is, MS is dictating to you how you use your own hardware. If you think that is reasonable, good for you cowboy and good luck.
If copyright infringement is such a menace, how it comes MS made a profit from completely unprotected software for all these years?
... you have also trained your Admin properly and he is not overwhelmed with 200 different tasks.
Give me something costing substantially less and I will look at it.

Moscow is not expensive. At least not as much as you would like to make us believe.
If the Chechens are such a burden, then do the decent thing, the democratic thing, and run a referendum there regarding independence.
If you are the best Russia has to offer, mother Russia should be very worried.
... why are they not whining for their dividends?
As things stand now they will be slightly less better of in a casino.
Which are forbidden (not that is matters to Mr Bush and his gang).

You fly tomorroy to Germany, go to a cybercafe, try www.google.com and you are received by the German version of the site.
You speak squat of German.
It happened to me, it could happen to you.

Joe paid.
The landlord missplaced the paperwork and to top it all sold to Bob.
Ta-da!

Text on paper is not akin to text in a computer device.
Graffitti on the go.
Graffitti for when you have got a little extra time. Or not.
Simple, elegant and you save money.
See? $ thought processes to arrive to the best solution (supported by market statistics and consumer choice, not wild sepculation).
I do not want to learn something new for no reason!
Once again software patents screwing up invention.
Go and bore yourself somewhere else! Easy solution.
