Oooh! This article might make digg crumble under the Slashdot effect.

But I can see that digg already has a story about Slashdot talking about digg censorship. So maybe Slashdot will crumble under the digg effect.

Either way, bandwidth is going to be a bummer this afternoon.

You mention that the heat that radiates from your heater helps reduce the load on your furnace for heating the air in your house.

That may be true, but it still means your water is cooling down, so wouldn't your water tank have to keep using power to maintain it's constant temperature. Granted, not as much as if it would be were the tank outside your house, but still.

You also imply that tankless water heaters are stupid. I've been considering installing one (solar powered, ideally) to provide hot water to a small top-floor bathroom in my house. I'm in a generally sunny but coldish northern climate (Toronto, Canada), and I figured this would be a very cost-effective way to heat just enough water for a daily shower or two, and maybe some radiant floor heating. The rest of my house would use water from a conventional natural gas powered tank. Thoughts?

Sorry but I love the fact that my portable video player also acts as a PVR.

Why? The iPod doesn't rip your music, so why should it rip your video?

Don't you see? The PVR functionality is being built into the desktops (I'll bet a revised Mac mini with TV in is in the future, if not a dedicated media center box). And, just like you let the desktop to the ripping and sync to the iPod for music, so to will it likely be for video.

This is similar, I'm told, to what happened with the iPod Mini just before the Nano release.

My source's guess is that the 20G iPod Photo will get replaced with a 40G model, and possibly we'll see a new high-end Nano (6 or 8G?), with some price adjustments across the board.
