  1. What about Coolio? on Yahoo Hacker 'Mafiaboy' Eight Years On · · Score: 1

Wasn't there another 'hacker' who went by Coolio who was arrested around the time MafiaBoy did his thing? I remember reading an article where he was pictured in a Pokemon shirt being led in for questioning. It was full of win.

  2. Re:I can only agree on the Choices on Quantum Leaps in RPGs · · Score: 1
Since it was so easy I couldn't stop myself from sneaking into a wall by leaving the controller with a weight on it to get sneak skill while I made myself dinner, or spamming summon spells then doing an hour of rest time.

Auto travel is bad because it makes the world small. Auto wait is bad because it makes time-based challenges......not challenging.

You didn't have to do any one of those things. You could have just played the game without thinking about min-maxing the levelling system or using the auto travel when you could have ridden a horse.

There is a difference between having the ability to do something and actually doing it. Oblivion can be played many ways.

  7. Stallman deserves credit on The Stallman Factor · · Score: 2, Insightful

With the revolutionary ideas and coding contributions from Richard Stallman, where would Linux be today? It's long past time to give this man the credit he deserves. The list of software he is responsible for is simply astounding. It's not likely that anyone will or even can be more important to Open Source anytime in the future. Richard, many thanks.

  8. What a crock on Microsoft's Guide to Accepting Donated PCs · · Score: 3, Insightful

MS is trying once again to takeover the minds of the children. Get them using only Windows in school and watch what they will ask for at home. It worked for Apple a long time ago, and now MS is trying to follow suit. In the words of an obscure tech, "Give me linux or give me an apple"

  9. only 28 days? on Microsoft Stops New Work To Fix Bugs · · Score: 0

With the current state of Microsoft code, 28 months may be more likely. A full code audit by an outside security team would be even better. It's not like shoving new products out the door is important for Microsoft right now. They already went through the big XP releases and visual studio .net is finsihed too. It's time for a little security, becore it really is too late.

  10. TV? Who cares. on TiVo, PVRs Not Making A Splash · · Score: 0

I read quite a few comments listing all the ways a Tivo will revolutionize watching tv. And to all of these comments, I say "Big Deal". I don't watch TV, and I have no interest in starting. Is there really nothing you could better do with your time? Read a classic book, go for a walk, *gasp* go on a date. Tivo solves a problem a lot of people just don't have. I'd rather opt-out of TV altogether.

  13. Webrings have been good for linux on Webring - Another One Bites The Dust · · Score: 0

Webrings are one of the things that has really drawn the Linux community together. I can't tell you how many hours I spent just hopping form site to site on linux webrings increasing my knowledge about Linus and Alan Cox and linux in general. I think it's pretty obvious that there is a huge anti-spam bias here on Slashdot. You are forgetting about all of the useful spam that is going around the net. I don't want to have to search for intra-racial peesex websites. That could take hours out of my day. However thanks to spam, I now have a folder of bookmarks full of peesex and I couldn't be happier.

Why not hire some real journalists with all of that money you guys have instead of having the current cast. Yeah, the original editors broke new ground with this site. Yeah, I'm sure they do their best. But it's getting to the point where professional jouornalists can and should be hired to takeover.
