I am not an American, I'm Dutch... and I totally agree with you.
To be honest I don't give a crap about whether my government uses free software, open source software or closed source evil boohaha propietary Microsoft software but I do agree with you that if you're going to make a statement and want someone to hear you, you should at least attempt to conform to the cultural and professional standards that the party you're trying to convince adheres to.
First of all, humor is used between humans to relate to things... I assume that you are human, so you would have to understand this.
Second of all... you're overreacting. What difference do you suppose a bunch of microsoft minded graduates (thereby assuming that they will be mindless-microsoft-loving-and-open-source-hating-b ill-petting-zombies like you suggested) will make on the worldwide revenues of Microsoft corporation by "influenc[ing] the decision yapyapyap"?
Here in the Netherlands we have such a system as well, supported by all the banks. The main thing is that this doesn't work like an ATM because it works offline mostly, that's what makes it so fast, cheap and usable. So when you 'charge' the card, you make the withdrawal, after that the money is 'stored' on the chip and is (I suppose) no longer connected to your account.
I've played EQ for a couple of months a few years ago, and I've always had great benefit from the more experienced players who often took the time to help newbies get started or help out when you're in (ORC!) trouble.
I bet they're unsure about the stability of the new OSX client and expect strange results when mixed with Windows clients on one server...
Judging by the fact that most americans are overweight these days, I'm not so sceptical about these numbers;-)
And where do you think the US's tradedeficit originates from? The US imports much more than it exports, so why not food? Even so, 3,5 times the area of the US itself is a bit overdone.

This guy looks plain rediculous.
In a vacuum there's not exactly air to cool the cpu now is there... ;-)
Eh... .NET is natively compiled when it's run for the first time. It also optimizes for the platform (even CPU) it runs on.

...so what's the use of Microsoft selling Nintendo boxes?
