You forget one thing though...they aren't cheaper. A 20k salary in India is pretty damn good (Some friends tell me it is like six figures over here), well, eventually the disparity will disappear and they will demand more salary. With US programming jobs disappearing and starting salaries coming down, at some point companies will have to say "Wait, how much are we saving exactly?" It has happened with call centers...
Also who is to say it isn't just that coffee has no sugar? If you drink 6 cups of coffee, you are much less likely to be pounding mountain dew and its 50 grams of sugar at the same time!
Nice little swipe at the USA there man. You must feel proud. It makes you look just as ignorant as the idiot you were responding to. Let me guess? You're not an American. Ironic, in that it show that ignorant idiots aren't exclusive to any one country, including your own.
Yeah, Elvinds comment was stupid, but Norwegians are actually very intelligent, friendly and down to earth people. I had the pleasure of visiting there 5 years ago. The scenery & the women are beautiful, the food is great(they have the best chocolate in the world Freia Melkesjokolade)
I am not Norwegian and I am in a hurry so I will just translate bits and pieces that seem the most important (not the history of the case).
Feel free to correct:)
Okokrim har valgt a ikke anke straffesaken mot Jon Lech Johansen. Dermed blir frifinnelsen av DVD-Jon staende.
The Economic Crime unit has chosen not to pursue further action against Jon Johansen. DVD Jon has been aquitted.

Sorry for the rough translation but though something would be better than nothing right now:)
I meant to say the French theories were largely anti-semetic, not that there was a theory that the French are anti-semetic, that has already been well established. Plus the fact that 10% of their population is arab doesn't help in that regard.
"try doing a little research on some of the conspiracy theories regarding 911, and you'll see some of them are more convincing than the bullshit you've been fed by CNN and its ilk."
No offense (or actually, scratch that) bud, but suggesting that we go looking at conspiracy theories (like all the antisemetic french theories floating about?) is not exactly a point in your favor. How do YOU know what you ARE hearing is true? How do YOU know your GOVERNMENT isn't TELLING YOU what you WANT to hear?
If you are not in Iraq, you have no business making the above statement
I can't believe I am responding to an AC, but here goes...
I am arrogant? How exactly? By paraphrasing what ESA officials gleefully were saying after NASA failures. I am still rooting for Beagle 2.
As Americans we are used to being called every name in the book, it is part of the burden of being the parents of the world. Like children, no one blames others for criticizing the parents (USA) only when the parent fouls up do we get outbursts from everyone.
Just out of curiosity, how do you know it was the communication technology that failed? How do you know it didn't smash into the surface?
We may know something soon on the Beagle 2 front and hopefully it is good news:)
You mean we should take the same attitude as the Europeans did when our last mars mission failed. They sure had a lot to say about it. If the Beagle had landed...in one piece (which isn't totally out of the question) they would certainly be pointing it out to us as another case of America throwing its money around.
I hope the Beagle is successful because I take a science uber alles pov. But you got to admit, it is nice for them to get a taste of their own arrogant medicine from time to time. Newsflash for everyone on the other side of the pond: That brown stuff you pinch out...yeah...it stinks. You all are not gods, not masters of technology, and you screw up stuff all the time, as much if not more than we do. So eat it, try again next time and may science continue to win...
With the European (ie France and Germany) smugness having their "lesson" in how to successfully complete interplanetary travel fail, it is nice to see that another American "lawn dart", I believe was the term, landed and will provide us with all kinds of new information necessary for manned flight.
All that said, I would have liked for the Brits et al to succeed (I am not lumping the British in the axis of arrogance) because science should take precedence over petty squabbles.
If you ever want to piss off women (especially feminists, who you don't/wouldn't-want-to have a chance with anyway) ask a group of guys and girls to draw a bicycle.
Then ask them to indicate their age, sex, and city of birth on the sheet. The age, and city mean nothing but it stops them from thinking too much.
9/10 the bike a guy draws, is able to work, meaning the chain, goes from the pedals to the back wheels. 9/10 girls draw it around both wheels, not at all etc.
It is then funny to point out to them the discrepancy. They usually get mad at this point;)
It even worked in my physics class with girls that were a cut above.
I think they might just make more money! Wow, it is almost like the tax cut was a...investment?!?!
I thought it was funny when a local restaurant owner (personal friend) decided to lower the cost of his food. Everyone thought that going from 6.95 to 4.99 for a burrito combo would end up driving up debt. It did...temporarily, but soon he was buying his food in bulk, figuring out more ways of serving more people more efficiently, and ended up making MORE money.
I think the person meant to type 1997 and on the number pad the 9 and the 6 are above each other.
I remember my Aunts telling me that I was really scared to go on it when I was about 2 or 3. I would point to the disclaimer sign, and say "That sign says this ride is closed and to come back later"
As of as being able to understand accent goes, forget indians , how many americans can understand what bernie mac is saying ?
The thing is that Indian accents are one of the HARDEST accents to understand! I have gotten used to it as an engineering student where a quarter of the professors and about as many students are Indian.
I think they would have gotten less complaints if the call center was in Africa (like Ghana, Kenya, South Africa etc.)
Yeah I know that. I meant, is there a band, a sport, an event, where the performers are white, but the audience is black. The closest thing might be Eminem, but even that is stretching it as there are many white kids that buy his music.
Talented black musicians will usually be accepted by whites. I am not sure if the same is always true with blacks.
Which just goes to show how racist America still is. You just don't get black pop stars if they're not singing hip hop or jazz or some of that other Africian style music.
I am not sure I can totally disagree with that. However, it is not because of racism, I think it is more because black people tend to gather around black culture. I think many blacks would fear being labeled as an oreo or some other such divisive label if they, for example, embraced punk rock.
Just as an interesting view (not intended to be racist at all), the audiences for our college basketball games is overwhelmingly white, yet the players are all black. Is there any event where the centers of attention are mostly white, but the audience is almost overwhelmingly black?
The point being, I think it is not whites that stop blacks from being part of the popular (non r&b/rap) music scene as it is themselves not wanting to embrace "white" music (which is something that doesn't really exist anymore, outside of classical music, given how pervasive the effects of jazz have become). I honestly don't care what race the musicians belongs to, I just want good music (increasingly difficult to find in pop). Once again, this was not intended to be racist, but I know whenever race is brought up it can bring forth strong emotions:)
You forget one thing though...they aren't cheaper. A 20k salary in India is pretty damn good (Some friends tell me it is like six figures over here), well, eventually the disparity will disappear and they will demand more salary. I can't believe I posted in this thread! NOoo, I would have give you +1 Funny or insightful I am not sure which.
Seriously, I don't understand guys that want girl with no ass. "Oh no, you can't see her ribcage and she naturally great boobs and butt."
I can't be the only guy that would rather have a girl that is thick to a girl that is really skinny?

Not a fair comparison. Who says let's get some parfait? Nobody that's who! And if no one asks, no one says they don't like it.
Nice try though,
